'68 is definitely the best politicized Olympics ever. It sincerely sucks for MX that it had to deal with the aftermath and the massacre that occurred beforehand, but in the words of my Modern Mexico teacher, raising those fists wasn't just for black americans, it was for oppressed people everywhere. This also happens to be one of my favorite historical moments of the 20th century as well.

Research the Australian who came second, Peter Norman. He wore a badge in support of these men during the medal ceremony and yet Australia turned its back on him. While Carlos and Smith triumphed Norman had his country turn its back on him. He died a few years ago and both Smith and Carlos were his pallbearers, watch the movie "Salute". It tells the story of the three great men on that podium.
