  • CB radio is just about 53 years old in the USA. Seems to be a dying hobby especially locally and the amount of radios sold is less and not much to choose from. Some lovely gateways in the UK though! Not allowed here... ;o(

  • @poikaa3 it may b dieing where u r but bomming big time here in NE georgia USA, at least 20 on channel 14 hang out,,and we just started a saturday night roll call about 8 months ago and last saturday had around 203 check ins.from 3 or 4 states, just have to b in the right place i guess

  • Mate, you have a better tolerance of discriminator noise than I do. Don't you use squelch? Your choice...is that the top of a Turner microphone I see in the first half? Waaay back pre-legalisation I owned one of these, a 'super sidekick' I believe it was, had a great frequency response for SSB as I recall. Plenty of midrange.

  • @G0IFI Its an old habit ,of trying to year DX stations......LOL. OK on the Turner, I have all of their products and like them .The one in the video is a mint Super Sidekick and I even have the box and handbook......thanks for your interest........73's De Dave M0OGY

  • I love that uniden 300! dont have space for a cb antenna in my back garden at the moment so on the night of the big net I sat up on Edgehill Warwickshire the last time I parked in that spot and spoke on cb I was driving a ford cortina so it bought back many happy memories and the whole event was a huge success in my opinion I'm on ham radio these days but I still love using the cb and back in july I operated mobile from lower normandy using cept fm..... great video kind regards Adrian

  • I have some radios worth many,many,many times this true Gem..............but this is my first ever CB Radio that I owned...........from day 1........it brought a tear to my eye when I fired it up after 25 years, my Late Father bought me it .....£69.95 was a lot of cash..the year you was born mate!

  • Good to see some1 still uses the old radio! When i moved down South from the Midlands radio died. Im a licenced ham now but Iv still got a few 27Mhz sets about the place
