@trainguy2020 It is indeed, every Saturday at noon. I need to get down there again sometime and record a test with this camera, especially since I haven't even heard it since we installed it about a couple years ago.
@trainguy2020 Good lord, if someone's leaf blower sounds like this, you may want to get that checked out lol. It is three phase, all of Cobb's are actually.
@stlchevy95 Nah, it has like 100,000 different coats of yellow on it, like the rest of the ones in the county lol. This one just hasn't "shedded" yet!
@LouisvilleTorn8o Yeah, the power services going to their 'bolts seem to be a bit on the high side (probably somewhere around 250-something volts). That and it's only about a tiny step above the other terminal 5 1000Ts I've recorded in other areas of the county. Thanks Josh!
@murrfarms I realized when I listened to this again last night that the blower is running just a little bit slow, which could explain the higher chopper pitch.
What gain setting did you use for this recording?
@LouisvilleTorn8o This one actually has a blower that is apparently not widely known about, a size 5M with a different pulley setup than the really old slow-turning 6M blowers used with the first A1 series, or the high speed 4M that the later style A2s, B, and C series used. These blowers move a little more than 250CFM of air (roughly about 300CFM with the way it's set up), and spin at about 2000rpm compared to the 2240rpm of the smaller blowers (or the ~1000rpm that the old big blowers spun).
@murrfarms Weird...I've heard other Thunderbolts that had blowers that sounded similar to this one. The old Glassport Tbolt may have had one of these blowers.
@LouisvilleTorn8o Oh, and I think the gain was set somewhere around -20dB or so this time since we were a lot closer than I have been in the past. I just bumped it up a little as a whole in Audacity to get it back up to around -0dB at the peaks. Other than that, it's the original way the camera recorded it lol.
@Murrfarms haha yeah! hey, is Milan's p-15 still being used? I'd like to hear that thing again.

@halcionclouds Sweet! I have a T-bolt in person many times, but I have never heard a 1000T or 1003 in person.

That sounds like it could be on level 7. Are you sure it's set on 6? Sounds great!
