  • I don't get it...

    These guys kinda suck.

  • @longshlongchode Keep listening, your ears need to get adjusted to it first then give it another shot.

  • @Heartattackandvine1 would it sound better if I smoke a bunch of cannabis? I think it would.

  • absolutely outstanding

  • Next year this album will be 30 years old. I'd love to have been alive and old enough to discover this at the time. This is even intense in 2012, let alone that long ago.

  • get on some heroin

  • Extreme as fuck.

  • Who ever recommended this to me...I don't even. What is this crap?

  • @nerdpudding idk who they are, but they're an idiot for recommending an idiot to this.

  • @youknowyourrite1 Because disliking this makes one an idiot? Gtfo

  • Sounds like a seizure.

  • Niezły odlot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • SWANS rule :D

  • god fucking help me, this scares the shit out of me but in a good way.

  • this is swans at their peak,no one and nothing was doing this before them

  • I can really hear Godflesh in the punishing relentlessness of this song. Without doubt a huge influence on many genres of music, but I suspect the extreme grind/death/industrial scene owes the most.

  • @RichVader Now I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Are you familiar with sludge at all? The Melvins may very well owe their very existance to the Swans. Neurosis certainly does, or at least without them they might have gone in a totally different direction after their first couple albums.

  • One of the most sinister albums I've heard, absolutely love it.

  • just fucking wow.......gira was putting something new and extreme out at this time..........luv the double tracked guitar..............hey, check out loutallica too.

  • @posthumanhero Yes LouTallica is fucking genius. I call it LouTallica too!

  • @malkooth yea, u can never get enough loutallica.............swans should open up for them in germany or some place europe where people just let loutallica be.........american metal heads are morons

  • @posthumanhero I kinda think that is the point of the LouTallica collaboration...I listen to it as a voice speaking directly to them and sometimes taking on their point of view. Lou has never sounded as alive. I fucking love it. What is it 'for a hundred dollars little dog and be lifted up to come face to face with that cold hearted pussy.'

  • @malkoot totally agree.......it can be taken on several different levels.........i tend to prefer the level where we exist here in 2011 and can't open our email without having some female extortionist beckon us......and we can't watch porn without some ad telling us how small our penis' are.......and we can't wear clothes that fit us any more......and we are turning gay in chatrooms and facebook degrades us........nobody is talking about how men are so [angry] these days -- lulu does.

  • @malkooth omg...that line......groupies.

  • @malkooth Damn well said.

  • Doesn't get any better than this.

  • FILTH is a great album.

  • Workout.

  • Throbbing Gristle style here... Don't know who were first but they both sound brutal..

  • Swans, you ruined music for me! Everything else seems like a joke after you...

    I LOVE YOU.

  • Brilliant scum.

  • lol this song is such a red hot chile peppers ripoff

  • @gaggletalgeese Can't tell if trolling or just stupid.

  • @TheTetrarch well duh red hot chille peppers influnced pretty much everybody like radiohead and r@chmaninoff. don't u kno?

  • @gaggletalgeese "r@chmaninoff" LOL. Very nice troll.

  • @gaggletalgeese yeah right, even though this album was release in 1983, the year the red hot chili peppers supposedly formed. these guys literally had two EP's and two LP's released before rhcp even released their first album. i seriously doubt either of these bands had any idea of one another at that time.. your either mindless or trolling.

  • @youknowyourrite1 rchp made the 60's. just sayin.

  • @gaggletalgeese made the 60's? they were fucking born in the 60's. you don't have your shit straight at all as far as i'm understanding.

  • @gaggletalgeese

obvious troll is obvious. we're done here.

  • Reminds me just a bit of Primus.

  • @SunflowerEmmeline except for being a completely different mood I can see it

  • how do they even get this sound?

  • @Megamaniac610 i sometimes wonder if it just came naturally from their setup

  • downright menacing.. that being said, this is definatly my favorite swans album

  • could do with a dubstep remix lolol

  • Damn Napalm Death used the same feel of music, but they just added a blast beat thing to it, so this mix became well-known as "grindcore".

  • real nightmare.

  • Oh wow!!

  • Grindcore metal is a joke. A pathetic joke. A bunch of clowns indeed... compared to SWANS. SWANS is the REAL thing

  • @drkam6 I'm a Swans fan but I also like SOME Grindocre. Napalm Death on top of all.

  • @drkam6 I concur

  • Fucking raw.

  • One word fits this: Agression.

  • It doesn't get more furious than early Swans.

  • where John Gossard got the name for his black metal band.

  • This is apparently one of Napalm Death's biggest influences and it's where the "grind" in "grindcore" comes from. I hear it.

  • @Megamaniac610 - evenmoreso, it's the template lifted wholesale by Godflesh. Not that I don't love them too.

  • @MCNOISE666 godflesh is terrible..and trite.

  • @NightRanger77 what's the reason you consider them like that?they're not experimental;they're industrial/post-metal

  • @bloodyrockfire industrial/post metal? must you fuckers always come up with genre after genre and in 1983 post metal wasnt a word only in the past decade have we come up with such bullshit if you want to get accurate they were called no wave along with early sonic youth and godflesh

  • @apathyisignoranc Yeah, you're actually right, your discription fits indeed better.I must say though this post-metal was a movement of post-punk by Godflesh taking influence from Killing Joke

  • @apathyisignoranc By the way if you happened to misunderstand me I was labeling Godflesh not Swans.I know very well they aren't industrial metal.Just sayin'.

  • @Megamaniac610

I actually read a book about death metal and some ND members met when they were looking for Throbbing gristle bootlegs.. This sounds like it inspired the slow parts of Scum.

  • @Megamaniac610 bs mate u r a tripper

  • @Megamaniac610 Grind and Grindcore evolved from Punk Rock getting faster and more agressive

  • heaviest thing known to man.

  • @aselfishimpulse someone hasn't heard of Electric Wizard. :)

  • @Xxaviers56 I dunno man, Sleep comes pretty close too. Or Bongzilla
