I loved this game as a kid. Used to play it all the time and eventually got really good at it. Took a little while to complete, but it was certainly fun. ^_^

I have the actual cartridge. Only the NES version is downloadable on the Wii. Its not too much on Ebay or something though.

I know there was an ending in the NES version. Its showed a cut-scene of Toad defeating Wario. In this one I'm not sure. If there is an ending its probably in the CPU VS. Mode.

I have the NES version myself, and I prefer the music from NES Wario's Woods myself--very catchy, in my opinion. I'm really surprised that Nintendo went with completely different music for each port because that was never their style with other games, from what I remember.

Toad is badass. He can run up walls, not be afraid of semi-nuclear bombs or these strange critters appearing all over the place. He can pick up 7 or so of these things and PUT THEM OVER HIS HEAD, and not even get tired! His VOICE is even cool

Every other toad sucks though...

I remember playing this on a flight back home to the UK after our vacation in the US 10 years ago!

The version I played is the same as this, but had additional screens in between the title screen & main menu:

First, a screen showing the game's box and text "Wario's Woods is now available from your local game store"

Next, a simple passage of text telling you how to play the game

And finally, a playable tutorial level.

i got this game for my snes yesterday, dont really understand it that much but i think i sorta get the idea now, just line up groups of 3 with a bomb in it? can anyone help me out a bit i need a tutorial or something

You need either a line of two enemies and a bomb, or two bombs and an enemy to get rid of the enemies. If you find a colored diamond, then blow it up with the matching color and all the enemies of that same color with explode. You can either kick or pick up enemies and bombs to move them around. It matching correctly you can make a chain reaction and get rid of multiple enemies in a row. After the bar on the right fills up your fairy that gives you bombs turns into a bird that gives you enemies.

ok than thanks, i think imstarting to get the hang of it haha but sometime i pick up a whole pile instead of just 1 that get a bit annoying but i will get use to it
