one thing i dont understand...i think the planes need to go faster for lift accordion to the angle of attack thingy on the wing. They look like their moving slow, you would think you have to move faster for this to be true.

@presstrigga once the plane has gained the momentum then due to its inertia forces the plane requeres less lift to be on air it is same as when a vehecle on a road requires more power when it is at a lower speed but once it gains momentum then the amount o force required reduces drastically.

@hunkrahul11111: Correct! that's why it is impossible to get a car moving from start with gear 3, 4 or 5 because they're soft gears, meant for cruising only

I couldn't tell you for sure but my understanding is that for most major airlines, if your glasses or contacts correct your vision so you have 20/20 acuity, then yes you should be fine.

Not true anymore regarding the glasses comment. As long as your vision is correctable to 20/20 by your glasses, you're fine flying or training to fly with most airlines.
