We spent 2-3 days cleaning her house which had a water line up to my neck and im five foot eight. She was one of the ones at the riverside plantation that had to be rescued by being dragged thru the water by boat. My point is, i saw so many volunteers that week. We def. lived up to our Vol State motto

For the record, I am neither white nor black but just an American and I am so disappointed at the federal government which wants to control even how people eat but ignore people being effected by a flooding disaster.
For the first time in my adult life I am so ashamed of my country.

@djskinnychris as a born and raised nashvillian,thanks for your comment :) Just a little side story. A person from our church found an old lady who had no family here for the 1st week of the flood. We spent 2-3 days cleaning her house which had a water line up to my neck and im five foot eight. She was one of the ones at the riverside plantation that had to be rescued by being dragged thru the water by boat. My point is, i saw so many volunteers that week. We def. lived up to our Vol State motto

These too may be what some consider "redneck", but to say that the whole state of Tennessee should drown, is cruel. If it were your mom or dad or child, you would care. If it were your city, you would want help. Floods do happen everywhere, but this was more than one little flash flood. ENTIRE cities were under water and 31 people died (and counting) think before you speak and are so cruel.

We have made it this far, and will recover from this disaster largely on the goodness of ordinary Tennesseans. The vast majority of people here aren't calling for government or news media attention, but rather donating their money, supplies, and time to recovery.
Also, please go on thinking we are a bunch of dumb hillbillies. If that stops people of this mindset from moving here and being a pain in the ass, it is doing some degree of good.
