@skylerwickedvan nice, i find a rigged body gives better out put for speed. i have bought a few rc cars and tested them with and with out suspension. a rigged body is a bit better. but i am afraid i might hit a little rock at high speeds and see parts flying. but since its wood, there is nothing i cant replace.

Its neiter 4WD or a riding mower. Its has a riding mowers rear axle, but thats it... The rest I custom made from wood. Its secret to pulling power is an additional 3:1 planetary gear set I added. Honestly, it couldnt go through deep mud...

Thanks. The transaxle came from a craftsman riding mower. Everything else is custom made

The throttle just has a servo hooked to it. The steering uses servos hooked to switches to operate a big steering motor. Thanks

Honestly... you wont believe me but Ill tell you anyway. That was my first design and I had a 3.5hp lawnmower engine in it. It does it because of the extra gearing Ive added. I have video of the inside to prove it

Something this basic would cost about $500-$600. If you could find used lawmower tires or a used engine- even cheaper. It didnt go very fast (10mph tops)

The motor wasnt even that big (5hp if I remember back that far) but it did have a gear ratio in first gear equal to 120:1
