Ya know, I didn't care for the timbaland album either but I have to applaud him for taking a chance. So many so called "artists" these days simply play it safe and go with what will be a guaranteed sell to make the buck. Scream didn't really work out well, but atleast he took a risk.
asLATIONO I need your help. He did an acoustic version of this that use to be on AOL. That one is so much better than this one (and this one is amazing anyway)
Best singer ever...In my opinion of course. I don't like the timbaland album but oh well maybe he will get back to the type of music I like. If not he has about 19 years of other music I can listen too :)
Awesome song from an awesome album that never got it's due respect (due to the band's disintegration during and after Revelations). This was a great rendition of a should-have-been single. I'm still holding out for an all acoustic Chris Cornell album though (hopefully next in line after the upcoming Timbaland fiasco).
And I was a little...distressed? to hear that he was working with Timbaland. But hey, it goes to show that he can do different genres and still be amazing
People kill me on these posts. Saying shit like he doesn't sound as good or he's old or he's ok. Are you fucking kidding me? Not one of you can or will ever be able to sing, write, and play like this. Yet you judge him like your the authority or expert. There must be a reason your watching his video. Imagine if you were playing and singing the one song you know if you even know one and Chris was judging you. He'd probably laugh his ass off. Chris is a bad ass!
yeah his voice is no longer what it used to be but he's still better than pretty much everyone in the "rock scene" and write that in quotes cause My Chemichal Romance is actually part of the rock scene. God...from Pearl Jam, Nirvana and STP's in the same year to my My Chemichal Romance...and The Fray...and Breaking Benjamin....Please shoot me
fuck this is good. holy fucking hell Cornell is GOD. cornell may once have been a druggy and an alcoholic - but he got his life together and is dominating. what he did in his past is irrelevent - the future is now. fuck I am maggot...
Through many years of singing, smoking and drinking, rocking and bringing the house down, his voice is has suffered. He has twice been advised to cancell tour dates with both Soundgarden and Audioslave so as not to strain his voice and damage it irreprebly.
He no longer drinks or smokes, and his voice is still fucking incredible. He rocked just as much in Audioslave as he did in SG, and still rocks now. Quit your whinning, its called getting old :)
its called getting old..and how does looking tan make a person look bad and regardless what the fuck does it matter what he looks like.....hes still a great fuckin musician regardless
Age made him change. With age comes maturity, so of course he's not going to be nearly as rebellious and wild as he was.
However, even though he may be more "civilized", he's still the same man, and if anything, you should respect the fact that he can still perform amazingly, as many artists lose their flair as they age.
well.. thats kind of a bad thing..Cornell was a heroine addict back in the day and sung about drugs alcohaul and nothing but problems.. but now theres a hidden message in his music.. to avoid a conflict listen to Wide awake Then look in a book.. you'll get the idea
I kinda prefer his voice now. He's heading towards Tom Waits territory though. LOL. All that screaming over the years has done serious damage! What a way to go though. Burn out bright. Savage (and he's only 43).
yeah he's voice is no longer as used as it good to be but he still better that pretty much everyone in the "rock scene" and write that in quotes cause My Chemichal Romance is actually part of the rock scene. God...from Pearl Jam, Nirvana and STP's in the same year to my My Chemichal Romance...and The Fray...and Braking Benjamin....Please shoot me
He looks way healthier ever since he got a tan. He looked like a dirty fuck when he was in temple of the dog. Washed out kind of a look to him! I know he was active at that time with drugs and alcohol. Still though the surfer look suits him!
I've heard a few of my friends saying he shouldn't be playing Audioslave at concerts and sessions without the rest of the band, but to be fair, he did write all of the songs, so he has as much right as the rest of them to play the songs.

Chris performs lyrics you wouldn't think make up a song and makes it golden.
Chris takes bad bands and makes them golden.
He stands alone.

Chris Cornell has become the opposite of what he was in Soundgarden.
NO headbanging, crazy moves, rhythm guitar, or heavy crowd interaction.
He's way too civilized nowadays.
Even when he had his hair short with the Garden he was still baddass.
And I don't think he can go into alto range anymore.
And why is he so tanned now. He looked way better pale.
What made him change? :(
JoeSidhu 4 years ago
But he still does some incredible awesome high notes here. In the 2nd chorus. that's the best.
JoeSidhu 4 years ago
