Funny thing - I once heard an interview wherein a record exec [cos we know how image and talent matter equally right?] say when he first saw Jeff's father play he thought - an attractive Bob Dylan... I can only guess what would have happened if that exec could have gotten Jeff to do an album of Dylan covers.... record exec dreams are made of such things I guess...
It's good to hear that there are some young folks on this thread that are huge fans! I just heard about him last summer when I heard that he was one of the best vocalists of all time. I'm very grateful. He's a best kept secret whose popularity is very slowly expanding, which is beautiful.
this was covered by rod stewart in the 70s ...loved his version and am really enjoying this to...my son turned me onto jeff and i gotta admit (being a real oldish hippie chick)i love him...how can anyone call him or dylan boring?....real music..sung by a true artist...
@worldcitizenforever See what I mean? You're trying to tell me who is a genius and who isn't and you're obviously not too clever yourself.
I'm currently studying sound art so I'm aware of Brian Eno, GX Jupitter-Larsen and Karlheinz Stockhausen but that doesn't stop me from liking other forms of music. Not liking something for being commercial is more superficial than commercialism itself.
@worldcitizenforever I didn't want to get personal but obviously you're an arsehole, and a stupid one at that. I ''don't know nothing about music"? I'm aware of Brian Eno and he's a very intelligent guy (I bet he doesn't use double negatives). How is this a commercial song? It's got 8,731 views. It's one of Dylan's lesser known songs.
And if you dislike music purely for it's commercial sound then you're nothing more than a poser.
@worldcitizenforever That's not the answer to the question he was asking. If that's your opinion, fine, but most people would consider the sounds of The Best Relaxing Sounds Ever vol1 - The Ocean to be mind numbingly dull. Just remember that most people come to this video to hear a musical genius.
totally agree im a HUGE Dylan fan i have all his cd's and also a HUGE Buckley fan but this has to be the best version ever. Jeff your on all our minds :)
@HowColdCanYouPlay indeed in the last sentence i wrote (and in bold type too) everything about him IS amazing! My regret is not having seen him in a live concert.
Both Jeff Buckley and Idiot Wind do a great version of this song. But I think I'll have to give the nod to Jeff.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Jack Johnson's version on I'm Not There is better.

It's brilliant no doubt about it, but personally for me Dylan's is the best. Jeff's vocals are superb here

@worldcitizenforever Are you tone deaf?? Or, do you only find musical security in gangsta rap??

Pay no mind to trolls trying to get a rise out of anyone anywhere. This is a wonderful performance of a great song. Enough said.

I love Brian Eno and Dylan and Buckley. This is not my favorite version by a long shot. "Boring" is in the ear of the beholder.
Or, in worldcitizenforever's case, the ear of the asshole.
