  • slow hand, Damn

  • killed it! :)

  • he uses the same chair in all of the videos!!!!!!!!

    Check iT out!!!!

  • I know people like to give Robert Johnson credit for this release, howerver I think if we could find a way of researching we may find the original was written and sang by Blind Blake... Just a hunch...

  • what's the clapping all about?! ruins a great rendition

  • 3 dislikes=3stupids

  • Should be named "Eric Coffee", he's better with Cream

  • Claptons says RJ's his favorite artist of all time, but then bashes africans immigrating to England? Clapton is God? Clapton is racist. And has lost all my respect.

  • @ERICxISxMONTREAL Wher'd ya hear that? In a documentary I heard (when he was sober) he said that when he was a teenager he fantisized about picking cotton in Cotton Fields... :P. Anyways he might have been wasted when he said that :P

  • @ERICxISxMONTREAL Clapton a racist? Ask BB or Buddy that question and you will have a black fist in your mouth and another one up your ass....Get you facts straight before you bash anyone.

Douche Bags like you piss me off way to much, so please accept my apologies, Asshole!

  • @ERICxISxMONTREAL ur an dumbass!

  • @ERICxISxMONTREAL I heard that same rant, I took from that the same thing I hear from people who are tired with illegal immigration here in the US. He's ticked about the illegal immigration to England, which who can't understand that? Illegal immigration is a problem period. Anyone who says you're racist because you are against illegal immigration and the tax it causes on your welfare system, is really out of touch with reality, or a racist themselves.

  • Delta

  • Is there a name for that style of guitar? Or the plate thing on top?????

  • @bushwasher116

    dobro-i guess

  • @bushwasher116 It's called a resonator

  • Eric owns every single guitar he pics up!

  • Stop clapping, you dumb fucks.

  • sounds like an audience full of white people.

  • goose bumps

  • Fuck those clapping, I'm outta here.

  • not i`m going down to the station .... i`m going down to youtube to see this fantastic video !

  • It's common for the downbeat to be felt on 2 and 4 in music that's shuffled.

  • This guy's just a genious, he's a real bluesman

  • And clapping on the wrong beats

  • u want to hear the blues ....Jorma Kaukonen ...David Bromberg....true blues players....And if u want to hear the greatest Acoustic guitar player in the World Check out Tommy emmanuel.....he is second to none.

  • u want to hear the blues ....Jorma Kaukonen ...David Bromberg....true blues players.

  • great rendition...robert johnson would have a great big smile :)

  • thats why Clapton plays Roberts tunes.

  • is that an open g tuning?

  • @bloozman1 I'm pretty sure its open E tuning

  • @bloozman1 RJ always played in Open E

  • This inspired me to take guitar from my wardrobe and play.

  • clapton got the blues

  • class!

  • Robert Johnson is a legend

  • This version of the song is sick! Just the way he sings the first line "I got ramblin" giver me chills every time.

  • Clapping on a blues song: That's a very classy way to piss on the artist's work.

  • ,,,or maybe it brings everyone just a little closer together.

  • @kulchenko what do you know? Go back in your ice cave in Siberia. It is soul clapping, and perfectly acceptable.

  • @kulchenko bullshit.

  • @kulchenko how did crowds use to get involved back in the day then smart one? they didn't pay what they did to sit their and be silent.

  • @kulchenko I've been a semi-professional musician for about 6 years, I'm only 18. The best thing to have when it comes to blues, especially upbeat blues like B.B. King and Clapton play, is the crowd getting involved. It's not a way to piss on the artist's work, certainly not in my experience. It's more of a way to let the artist know you can relate and support what they're saying.

  • @kulchenko lol yea really like, claptons got percussion he DOES NOT need help.

No drums in this for a reason!

  • @kulchenko CLAPton ; )

  • @kulchenko get over yourself.

  • @kulchenko that's right, clapping ruins blues so badly

  • @kulchenko he actually hates it....

  • as I look at the coments for this song, people say they like one side , or this way of Claptons playin more than others, good thing for us poor slobs is he canplay any HE WISHES TOO, with great technical proficencie, and HEART! that is E.C,s genius, he can play it ALL! better than most rock/blues /jazz guitarists can play there speciality , thats what makes him what he is versitility , and the fact evvvvvvvven if he did not have a penny, he would be playin some old giutar in some old joint..

  • @htmaint Well said, EC is the real deal.

  • Hit the nail on the head, bravo!

    E.C. is the best

  • Good for you Fran! Did you meet him?

  • My name's Fran Raya and I'm a female singer/songwriter from the UK. I was invited to support Eric Clapton on his 'Just One Night' Scandinavian tour performing my own songs. After I sang I used to watch him play from the side of the stage. Such a true artist and musician. I am so proud of the fact I toured with him. Thanks Eric for the opportunity.

  • Wow, I envy you !

  • Amazing

  • I prefer his stuff like this more than his stuff he does with his band.

  • @Keruaran

    I can't agree more,

Eric is a Legend, and his love for the Blues is unique.

  • I was thinking of how to explain the personal intensity of Eric Clapton's covers of Robert Johnson as I watched this... and I just cried... Those crowds, the clapping along with the music, the accolades, are what Robert Johnson deserved and never saw. But Eric does him justice.

    It breaks me up.

  • I'm sure Robert Johnson enjoyed his share of popularity in his native Mississippi. Shame his career ended so soon.

  • Im not sure why he's doing the lisp thing? I've me tEric twice and he doesn't have a lisp. "DHENCHY could be right. But having false teeth is definitely not true.

  • ... Yes! He can... Sing Blues! ;-) i mean it!

  • Not that bad of a slide player

  • he may have had some dental work done earlier in the day. it sounds as though his tongue is being restricted by some irregularity on the back of his upper teeth.

    doc

  • totally brilliant performance, but what's with the lisp. is this a blues affectation or what? never heard clapton do this before.

  • brilliant tvdeo

  • HOLY FUCK!!!! He does this one excellent!!!!

  • is that a lisp I hear?

  • yes, but i think it is deliberate. He does it on other versions of the song, and i haven't heard it on other song, i think he's trying to emulate a down, south 'black vernacular'. it's either that or his tongue has swollen up!!

  • I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that back in the 70's he fell flat on his face and that his front teeth are false. Do you think that could be it? Again...I don't know if the story is true

  • robert johnson didn't play with picks, he used his fingures, you cant play RJ with a pick

  • I don't mean a plectrum, I mean fingerpicks and a thumbpick. A lot of the old blues players used them, and it definitely sounds as if RJ did.

  • Thank you!!
