The film this clip comes from is nicely described in the Wikipedia article on Teenage Head. And I consider myself lucky to find it so easily here!
Punk in 1978 was a whole different animal than it got to be by 1980 when there were hit albums and punk became accepted as a valid type of rock music. Punkers were still despised by most rockers, not to mention "decent society," at the time this event took place - and it shows in the authentic message and the feisty crowd. I love it!
Not the best Canadian punk band but certainly one of the best. Combining traditional rock and roll with punk music was also way ahead of its time. It was later done by the pychobilly groups like King Kurt, Demented Are Go and The Meteors in the mid 1980s.
Tornado , the song, is off a 6 song EP from1983 called Tornado, by Teenage Heads, the short lived name of the band to appease their American record company, MCA. Also on the EP Dont Cage Me In,,, Im Just Too true,, Dangerous Imagination,, Blood Boogie,,, Luv for Sale,,, TURN IT UP or TURN IT OFFFFF
My uncle is the guy at the very end of the video shakeing his fist... yeah!!!!
