Actually, I think he is using the addiction of crystal meth (or drugs in general) to describe being in love. If you read the lyrics carefully it's very obvious, in my opinion.

He uses the first verse to introduce the comparison, and the the second verse elaborates more on how they are so similar. the first verse says "I can make you smile it's LIKE a drug for you."
