Don't worry, this game kinda misses the point of being artistic. There's a fine line between "artsy" and just having fuck all happen. You should get another Tale of Tales game called The Path. Stuff actually happens in that game and it's done much better. Both as art and as a game.

I would like to point something out, it's not called "The Graveyard Demo" It's called "The Graveyard Trial," and could not be more properly named. It is a trial. 30 minutes of gameplay, and you get 2 things done: Walking 100 feet, and sitting down.
It's just a giant test of patience. I'm not joking, it is. There is literally no way to exit that game without beating it. It says "Press Esc for Credits and Options."
It only shows Credits. The only option is to go back to playing the game.
You can always do ctrl alt delete :D, well i just went to the bench on the trail, sat down for like 5mins then i pressed W and apperntly that worked so i walked to the gate and it ended :P

There is no storyline, no char development, no expression, no fun. This is not a game, it is a mindless waste of time, i would rather eat a hotdog than play this abomination of a so called game.

Definition of a computer game: A game played on a computer (or other device) using computer graphics for display.
Definition of a game: A contest/amusement with rules to determine a winner.
This "game" shows none of those qualities and so can not be classed as a game at all. This is why i wouldn't enjoy it, if i wanted to think i go for a walk and ponder, or have a discussion or read a book, watch a movie etc

This should be labeled digital art, not a video game. I give it an A+ for uniqueness but I would never call it a video game and I would most certainly not charge for a full version when there is not practical difference from the demo. Personally, I understand the concept just fine, that, I don't have a problem with.
My main problem is that they slapped on a $5 price tag and claimed it to be a "game". The design document for this "game" must be about 3 pages long, took about 4 days to develop and bang, they start ripping people off. Why people would pay $5 to watch her die I don't know.
Well, they have to make money too right? I mean, they give you a trial where the lady doesn't die, but that's about it. You don't HAVE to buy it if you don't want to.
The trial, I'll admit, doesn't add too much emotional value to it, but the song with the death is meant to symbolize the fact that she's lived her life and no one she knows is alive anymore, and it was her time. The 5$ may not be worth it to you, but lots of people find it to be really worth it. Besides, what's 5$ to learn an important life lesson?

That video was awesome, and without a doubt this is the worst "game" i've ever seen in my life, even those claiming its artistic its not, its stupid. I could take a pencil and draw on a piece of paper, just a single line, and send it to u, and you would probs enjoy that more than this game.
There is no storyline, no char development, no expression, no fun. This is not a game, it is a mindless waste of time, i would rather eat a hotdog than play this abomination of a so called game.

I second that opinion, can we leave the emotional story telling to films and books, till game developers work out how to show emotion and create a character I actually give a damn about.

I would probably enjoy this game a lot more than a pencil line on a piece of paper. The point of the game is to make YOU think... not let the game do the thinking for you.

Definition of a computer game: A game played on a computer (or other device) using computer graphics for display.
Definition of a game: A contest/amusement with rules to determine a winner.
This "game" shows none of those qualities and so can not be classed as a game at all. This is why i wouldn't enjoy it, if i wanted to think i go for a walk and ponder, or have a discussion or read a book, watch a movie etc
Face it this is a waste of time Peggle is cheaper and more fun i'd rather play that.

Its funny how everyone thinks this is trying to be a "game" its not its trying to be, its supposed to be a explorable painting and is supposed to tell you a story through a song. Its not a game and i can see this not being liked by people because its not about a super soldier saving the world. Its supposed to evoke emotion which it does. This is a right step in the way of making games a serious art form.

I third that, for one i even sorta liked the other game that tale of tales made ("The Path").
But this really is an abomination...
I mean sure I'll agree with everyone who is saying its not a game, its really truely is a graphics test with some (in my opinion pointless) story attached to it.
What really irks me though is that they make you pay money for it, not only that but they make you pay money for a single other animation...

I dont understand how you could consider this a ripoff. The game description clearly states what it is, and clearly states what you gain for paying the extra 5$. Its not like they were advertising an action arcade game and gave you this instead. I'm skeptical about whether or not they're going to make significant money from it, but its sure to give them at least some publicity, since its a pretty cool and original idea anyways.

This should be labeled digital art, not a video game. I give it an A+ for uniqueness but I would never call it a video game and I would most certainly not charge for a full version when there is not practical difference from the demo. Good concept from an art prospective but terrible from a gamers point of view.

Personally, I understand the concept just fine, that, I don't have a problem with.
My main problem is that they slapped on a $5 price tag and claimed it to be a "game". The design document for this "game" must be about 3 pages long, took about 4 days to develop and bang, they start ripping people off. Why people would pay $5 to watch her die I don't know.

The trial, I'll admit, doesn't add too much emotional value to it, but the song with the death is meant to symbolize the fact that she's lived her life and no one she knows is alive anymore, and it was her time. The 5$ may not be worth it to you, but lots of people find it to be really worth it. Besides, what's 5$ to learn an important life lesson?
