I totally remember this on WBMX and WGCI. The thing is is that this is so New Wave/Synth Pop(with a touch of Electro). The 80's were so much more eclectic. I can't imagine a black station playing anything like this now!
I think that by listening to this you can definitely see that early house music often just associated with Chicago and NY derived from UK synth pop and Italo disco, yet many people never associate it's roots with Europe.
back in the day bmx and gci house partys in BRIDGEPORT south side all those fine ass bridgeport women in da house looking good !!! dancing to these good ole house music early 80's
I never understand why people call this Italo Disco when these guys were English, this tune rocked the house when i was a young man back in the day. Love the production and those dark vocals.
@WilderelAchaiah : I can Imagine how that would sound;MONSTAH! Never tried that combo before. I've gotta try that using the New York edit! I'm gonna let the mix ride and freak the knobs!
We play this at any house party in Chicago and like 99% of the people know it...it's OldSchool baby..."Chicago number one party continues @ saturday night live aint no jive chicago one and only 102.7 FM WBMX".....Mix it in with....It's It's it's...it's OKK!!!!...Chip E
@harlemnightsmusic Yup.... This is straight up timeless..... House Music baby! I remember leaving Alcatraz after jaming to this joint and so many other House trax then Pickin up a Polish on Maxwell street (Chicago)

Thanks for posting up this video.... wow! This is straight up old school and classic in my eyes.... I might have only been 5 yrs old at the time but growing up in Pilsen (South Side of Chicago) with an older brother..... you automatically become aquainted with it! That is a given especially in Chicago where House music reigns!!!!!!! Once again thanks for posting this.... I may have commented prior on this video, but just want to show love from Chicago! House Music!!!!!!
First heard this at a club in Germany in 1985 and it blew my mind! I heard it again back in the USA played by DJ Frankski out of V103 Baltimore and went out to buy the vinyl the next day! Very influencial record...very ahead of it's time and every House/Electro DJ worth a dime had this in their collection. TIMELESS!

I feel you 100%..... Im 31 and my older bro is gonna hit 39 or 40. (Lol... funny how we forget after so many years huh?) Anyway...... I use to record shit for him when I was like 8 and he was 16 just starting to go out..... I use to record many, upon many WBMX mixes...... wow.... that was the shit!!!!! Wish i could be that young again with no worries.... now its a diifferent story!!!!!
Ahhh cheers fella for you kind words, am putting a small video with the GC1 version & loads of picture of us from the 80's bit scary lol All my best Mick
I remember when that thumpin break used to come on and you knew immediately what it was. Just clasic. Since I was underage at the time and on the Westside me and my buddies hung out at Da Vinci Manor on North Ave and Central or took the train down to the Playground on 19th and State.
SOUTHSIDE BOOGIE(Taylor & Laflin) Chi-Town House Music back in the early 80's was the BOMB!
