  • This looks to be the "dash-5" (SB2C-5) variant, featuring frameless sliding canopy and tailhook fixed in extended position. The white diamond markings on tail and upper right aileron denote USS Franklin (CV-13). Nice!

  • yes  it is ... there rae only rumors about the plan on rebuilding another Helldiver .. same version..

  • @lordalfredhenryII Yeah they're about to rebuild one they found that was ditched in a California reservoir in 45', not for flying I don't believe just for a museum.

  • The USAAF also used this model, it was an A25 Shrike.

  • @SgtGrant23 I am the backseater to this plane and to give you all the correct information there is 4 surviving Helldivers and this is one of those 4 and it is the only one that is air worthy and flying.
