  • anywhere in the world there was and is, no sound like a steam train coming through at night with a solitary lonely blast of her steam whistle. it's heaven.. with a twist ...

  • Ah! That SOUND!

  • Hummmm, Now being sensible, when was the last time you were at Bridgnorth?

Look kid, because the way you are talking towards people isnt very mature. IF you are refering to what go's on within the shed at Bridgnorth that is a private matter to people within the railway. They are not beating each other up, god knows where that came from. For once stop playing your bloody playstation and google bridgnorth station and click on images. Then you will be proven wrong.

  • When was the last time you were at Bridgnorth?

I was there on the weekend and I can assure you that the station running in board was spelt BRIDGRNORTH. I also have access to historical maps going back to 1762. 346 years ago Bridgrnorth never had an E and all the maps and official documents I have looked through all point towards Bridgnorth.

I notice your name, GreatWayRound... The LSWR route was quicker HA

  • OK, so perhaps I'm biased-my granddad used to drive these for BR

  • The 3 cylinder limping beat of a de-tuned Bulleid is rank compared with an unconverted.

However, compared with an overgrown green painted 4 cylinder industrial even 34027 sounds awsome.

  • That whistle sounds just like an American Reading T-1 4-8-4 in freight service.

  • Everytime i come onto youtube this is always the first video i look at. There is no better video!!!!!!!!! Easily the most fantastic whistle, On a par with this video is the 6009 through chippenham!!

  • steam locomotives in general among my favorite sounds.

  • That 3-cylinder rhythm and that Bulleid whistle are in my top 10 favourite sounds in the world

  • Considering the whole town is BRIDGNORTH without and E. The name of BRIDGNORTH station is the correct spelling.

You think a 4 cyl beat sounds good i remember hearing 5029 leaves sterns a Bulleid beat is 100 times better than a 4 cylindey castle and Bulleid had a better reputations. despite what people say.

  • increadable on the way back 5*

  • BTW its Bridgnorth theres no E in it.

TV is atm under overhaul and she will be a superb engine once she comes back. But there is no other whistle in the world that can make that sound!!!

  • That evocative eerie sound of the doppler effect on the whistle brings back loadsa memories. great video!

  • OH GOD,BRING EM ALL BACK

  • 34027 Taw Valley is at Bridgenorth on the Severn Valley Railway having a heavy overhaul

  • Is 34027 still as 34045? I'd love to see it as TAW VALLEY again.

  • you can never replace them!

  • lovely whistle

  • ahh right! done a good job on filming
