Option one: You make four of those but of the same painting. Make it so that you put it in a box and it gives the appearance of an image inside of it, all around.
Option two(Not sure if it's possible): Rather than a regular screen, an all-around screen with the same effect as above.
Hello diegofloor. me and my production partner produced this video and did all of the original music for it as well, including the song playing during Taron's The Hide. We hope you enjoyed all of the amazing rabbit holes featured, it truly is an amazing artform...and we hope you enjoyed our music!
I think that your rabbitholes are amazing. I want to buy one for my degree project for everyone to look at, and trip out at The Wanganui School of Design in Wanganui, New Zealand. Until I spotted the price of these things!!! I couldn't work out the correct cost from your website. But what I think I'll have to pay is about $3000 (American) for a A2 sized print? Is that right? I can't afford even the smallest prints from other artists! How do you expect people to purchase these things!?
You can print your own artwork as artist package, 500$ includes all the artwork guidance, production etc. and you get framed and lit 7x10" hologram. 200$ for additional copies.
You can also order samples of other artists' works 250$ for framed/lit 7x10", 120$ for additional prints (sample designation applies).
I think this great artist are not taking advance of this great medium, what we see here is what we always see anywhere now in 3d but what about discourse, they don't even use the animation they can include in the rabbit holes but this one is my fav 4:18
this should be taught in art schools, i think it should be made more available to the masses, learn how to do em, instead of having to send your work and buy the print, its a business right now
Yes it is possible to buy one from RabbitHoles - visit our web site and write the email. Smaller (and cheaper) versions will be available soon. Which ones are you interested in?
ok, here we go (in addition to my previous posts): search for "AMD Cinema 2.0", i think this is the next step to holograms and holographic conference (when they refer to real time corelation between subject's facial movement and the pre-rendered model)
However, the only thing they have in common with "RabbitHoles 3D Motion Holograms" is the (theoretical) concept of hologram, i think this technique's destiny is to become only a form of art expression, which is still cool and sufficient.
I did not noticed anything in common. They use 3D environment, as most game engines, but they do not have anything to do with 3D media,
I have not even heard any reference to "hologram". Of course, you can use some stereoscopic technique to play in Real 3D, when two eyes see different pictures - that's as far as it comes close to 3D perception.
Further re:conference, to capture 3D - there are much easier ways, such as using two cameras, spaced at eye distance. :) Why modeling, rendering etc.?
it's posible that we watched different clips on same issue. at a point in some videos they present a device for displaing monochrome 3d models (captured with same "room" used for the "main thing") viewable from all angles around. they also talk about using facial movement for sinchrnised command of the photo realistic 3D models rendered. indeed the means this gets achieved is very different.
Then that is "USC 3D Display". Yes it is 3D, rotating mirror is synchronized with video signal. Ergonomically, though it is very different, and again, it would be a technical error to call it hologram. Look at the protective box on it.
Our holograms you can put on the wall at your home and light it with single halogen bulb.
How is this new? My dad bought a 3d motion hologram back in the early 90s. It's of William Shakespeare moving his hand to his chin. I find it funny that all these people are so amazed by a technology which has been around for over 15 years, easily.
The quality of the effect is also important, this is also about depth perception, not only animantion...
Sure, not many things are left not to have been thought of before.
People being so amazed about this only proves that this form of art expression should be made more popular.
The novelty of this art form is using multiple3D rendered frames and letting the viewer to interact in some way with shapes (very "eye candy" sometimes) designed in a virtual space, feeling the depth.
I have tried to find some video of that hologram with no luck.
It is hard to judge from the pictures only.
I would say this technology is new because of all the small differences. Such as: we can print the digital data and get the hologram on the display several hours after we've got the rendering files on our FTP. I bet your dad's Shakspeare hologram took someone many days to produce. In our case, "Art" portion refers to the artists creating the 3D, not to the process we use to print it.
This is absolutely amazing and truly the birth of the the supreme method of exhibitioning 3d graphic art. I really liked The Hide by Taron (4:12), the transition his creature makes from the front of the canvas to the back wall looks crazy good. I think it would be great if this technology stayed dedicated to its roots in pure surreal fine art for as long as possible.
This is fantastic. This is the kind of revolutionary leap that's similar to when photography entered the art world. Or when Cinema went from 'silent' to 'talkies,' or from black and white to colour.
I can't wait to have a one of these pieces of art on my wall!
I was thinking about moving picture media, stuff like "time-slicing" technique applied to a football live transmission for example, sure it wouldn't be to be seen to soon since it involves seriously increased bandwidth, but with a movie it could work fine.. however, all these would require special hardware, so my hope was targeted to the momment i will be able to have these integrated on a home cinema system maybe.. :)
i read somewhere that TV monitors with 3 layers of screens are already beeing developed. 1 layer for the background etc, and the effect of it is a real 3D experience. i guess we'll see more of that in the near future.
i believe u're thinnking of PureDepth technology, which is yet quite limited as 3d effect...
do a google/youtube search for: holovizio 3d, cheoptics 360,
..these two are much closer to the "real thing", first one more suitable for multimedia, the second one is the real hologram but it would be nice to have it scaled down a bit more :).
in both of your mentioned holovisio and choptics, I find it hard to believe that there is any difference in picture for two eyes. Majority of the objects are rotating quite fast, so that videos do not allow to estimate the real perspective differences. I would guess that is just projection on the screen, smetimes on several screens.
Not to say it is not absolutely amasg and great for some applications.
now that u pointed it out, i had a closer look on the "problem" (Cheoptics), and basicaly the viewer only sees images projected on 4 mirrors forming a pyramid.. so, u see only 4 angles.. :( totally unmagical, if u ask me.. sorry about that, my bad.
about holovizio, that i would like to see it too with my own eyes, becose if that image is rendered for all viewing angles in the room, ensuring depth sensation, then that's a lot of rendering power involved.. i am pretty sceptic about that also.
Definite cool factor! Pushing the bounds of Holographic technology.

Holograms are so cool, i don't get it:
Why don't they replace it with tv? I'm
tired of 2-D crap. I want full 3D bitches!

how are these done? anyone knows of any tutorial?
lucaddragon 1 year ago 2
@lucaddragon
Look for Printing and Rendering video on the profile - video briefly explains how the process works.
Otherwise, you can visit rabbitholes site for more details and options of creating your own hologram.

Beats going to the Tate Modern. It's like something out of Ghost in the Shell, so futuristic.

Wow... having worked in the signage industry I've seen a few recent examples of 3D holoraphic signs but this just takes it all to a whole new level!
Amazing and Gorgeous!

Well, it is a business, that's right.
I hope at some point it will be accessible for everyone, same as color printers nowadays.
But it needs to start somewhere!
All the suggestions as to how to make available to the masses are welcome!

What do you mean by applying to multimedia technologies?
It is in a way interactive, as the perspective and animation changes with your movements.

Well, RabbitHoles holograms do not change with time, they change with viewer's movement (those might coincide sometimes, not always).
But having the famous "football goal kick" on the wall, in 3D and/or motion - that's already reality!
RabbitHolesMedia 3 years ago
yes, i realise that.
what do u mean about "already reality"? no long explanations necessary, just give me some good google search terms..
