  • depend for what salmon u fishing for and also what time of the year, they bite on different things in different weather. i guess! lol

  • Went Salmon fishing in Albion, New York, in a tributary from Lake Ontario. I threw everything at them but the fly box itself. Nothing. I was introduced to a egg set-up called Skain. It was the only thing in 2 days of fishing that they would hit on. Hooked into 7 Salmon. Bit my line off 3 times, 3 came out of the water like dolphin and shook the hook free and one got within arms length and spit out the hook. Great fish. Great friends, Great trip.

  • That GP overwing is defo important. It represents the back of the shrimp, and the black tips are a strong representation of the eyes. It helps if the area that the tippet feather is tied in is built up a bit so that the tippet lies flat over the body.

This gives a more realistic profile to the fly, if indeed it matters. Summat to think about tho.

  • never fished for pacific salmon might work though?

  • Is that fly effective for both atlantic and pacific salmon or just the one?

  • glad it worked for you! tight lines

  • nice technique. Great fly I tried it and it worked like a charm.

  • why do you tie it with a duel hook
