earthworms are my favorite thing to feed my oscar. they seem to love them. thats a green terror in there with the oscar right? are there ever any problems between the two?
dude i had exactly the same in a 8x3x3 tank and my jack dempsey got eating along with the a jaguar lol they were together for 3 months then the oscar just got savage and ate everything i still have the oscar but i dare but anything back in with it you should put lots of bogwood in there oscars loves to swim round it. great vid man
How safe are the earthworms outside in our backyards and streets? When it rains, the earthworms are all over the sidewalks here. Are they safe to feed to my Oscars?
really nice fish u got thier i got 2 tiger oscers an a pike an it seems like this one oscer like to copy the pike an then the pike gets pissed an go hides its funny mabye one time ill catch it on tape an show u
Oscar's don't really care about hiding places..they're a very interactive fish and they associate you with provider of food so normally if they see you they will be at the front of the tank begging for food.
@mkinsler91 I only have 1 Huge Oscar and 1 Huge Pleco. It's hard to make a hiding spot for them. Oscar just messes anything I put in the tank anyways :)
I suggest giving the fish some more places to hide, so he can get away from humans and their gaze, and check the humans out from his personal spot. He has no place to get away from people's attention on him.

@xraynautilus I had some plants and a fake cave but he would just move them all over then tank... I don't think he has a problem with the setup I provided him... He eats well and I keep his water very clean. Plus, he is way too big for any kind of shelter.. He would have no space to swim :)

Why don't I hear much about the black Tiger Oscar? I rarely see any vids of them. They're gorgeous! I have four Oscars. One in every known color. My black Oscar changes colors too. From an ashy gray tone, to a pitch black with gray blocks pattern. It's a sight to see! I love every one of them. A good fish for anyone.
@GoPlayMW2OrSomething The lighting makes him look really yellow.. Check out a newer video with my new lights and you will see his true colors!!! :) Oscar change colors with age just to let you know.. He was red when he was a baby
please help i have posted this video i have 3 oscar fish temperature 28 celcius i give them hikari palets and live bloodworms(only sunday) they are active not behaving vierd please help me are they suffering from any deseaz that i know off...the white spots on the fish looks scary to me please help i clean the gravel once a week and keep the water clean change water 20% every week undergravel filter is attached to,fish eats swims around not a problem just the patches plz.
@vespilodegodfather buy some esy life kid, it turns ur water a murky white for a few hours but its great for white spot or u can use some methylene blue, but it turns ur water a dark blue and is a cunt to get rid of, but works wonders
your oscar is easily the best looking one ive seen on youtube i was wondering what color it was when you first got him that he grew up to be such a yellow color. i have 2 oscars myself and absolutely love them and can always see myself owning at least 1 forever. beautiful tank though thanks
@thexghost78 He was dark red, this video is with my original lighting which made him appear more yellowish. He is more dark w/ orange. I have a later video with my new lights and you can see his real colors :) I will make another feeding video while I am thinking of it right now :) Check is out if you like.
can you give me a list of the optimum food(excluding feeder goldfish but wild minnows i can do) to feed me 2'' albino oscar. Ive had one before but i dont think he had the life yours had an i want to give my peaches(oscar) that life
hey i have an albino and tiger oscar both of them i bought three months ago. They are about 8 inches long.Everthing was fine but from the last two days tiger oscar became too agressive, it bang on the glass, try to eat snails and brawling with albino. And my poor albino is very scared of him.I tried to control his temper by putting a net and scaring him but that doesn't works. The moment i step out of sight, he try to do some really agressive feats. Please help me to solve the problem.Tank is 55gall
@santoshbharath123 First off in about 1 yea,r you will have to buy atleast a 90 - 120gal tank.. They grow very fast!!!! Just make sure the tank is 18" deep not 12" or 15". My Oscar does the same thing, he smacks into the glass all the time and makes a real mess of my tank sometimes. He attacks his reflection in the glass a lot! When I feed him I try to drop it right into his mouth so he does not chase the worm and hurt himself which he does sometimes.. Water changes is very important! Good Luck!
@bonesofsteel i have a question i have two oscars ive had them since they were babbies i put them in a 30 gal then they out grew tht tank so i bought a 55 gal there each about 7 inches long now should i be looking in two buying a bigger tank and is it to late to put another fish with them
@fish8265 Everybody has an opinion. 2 (7") Oscars in a 55 will not last long, if you are planning on keeping two Oscars for a long time you would want to invest some extra money and get 100+ min.. Make sure the tank is 18" deep not 15" I have two canister filters running with my 1 big Oscar and 1 big Pleco and I do a 60 - 70% water change every week. Two full size Oscars in a 90 like mine I think would be too small, you may run the risk of them fighting often (not to say they won't in a big tank
@bonesofsteel thanks ya i was thinking i needed a bigger tank but the thing is fish arent cheap, im sure u know tht already. i was thinking on buying a red devil but i was wondering would the oscars kill it because they didnt grow up with it? and if i do buy one should i buy two so he doesnt feel alone
@fish8265 red devils are probably the most aggressive fresh water fish you could get depending on the size of it and the size of your oscars ( if the rd is small compared to the oscars) the oscars will kill it but if it is same size it can very likely take over the whole tank and fight with everything and one day kill everything so if you want your oscars id suggest not getting a rd
Hey what is the minimal tank size for two oscars. Ive heard you can get away with having two in a 75 gallon but im not too sure if this is true. ive just been coming up with the same answer of 55 gallons each. please get back to me.
I remember playing an old video game called Earthworm Jim, and the first boss was a fish in a fish bowl. It plays the boss music and says "fight", then Earthworm Jim just eats the fish and automatically win the round.
Some people like at least a 125 for an Oscar but a 90 is very sufficient, I don't agree that a 55 is minimum because a standard 55 is not wide enough for an Oscar, I'd say a 75 is minimum. A 75 and a 90 have the same footprint, so as far as an Oscar is concerned it's the same thing.
@OmgLowBattery 55gal is minimum. I am okay with my Oscar and Pleco. I have two canister filters going (Fluval 404 & Eheim Pro II) I also go a 60% water change every week
@bonesofsteel I use to do a 50% every week and the guy at my fish stor who is very experience in fish tanks said that 50& is too much a week and he said to do 25% a month
They get huge! 90g? Bah, might as well make it a 200g fish tank.... Oscars are hunters and swim for miles so you cant win no matter how big your fish tank is... Some one with a 55g will always dis the guy with the 25g, and if you wait log enough you'll here about the guy that says 90 or 125g is the way to go....... Meh, who cares.
Beautiful Oscar. I have a 2 inch Tiger Oscar named Stanley. Got him about 2 weeks ago and he's already grown about half an inch. Can't wait 'til he gets this size =]
my sis has 2 12" oscars in 55+ gal, there about 3/4 years old and been in the same tank together all there lives, they was about 4" when she got em off me !!! 55 is to small to house 2 fish this size but she has done somthing right coz they are the baddest oscars ive seen about 2" wide and will swallow 5" cichlids all day, check em out !!!
i have 2 angelfish, an oscar, a red tailed black shark and 3 clown loaches in a 4ft tank. im about to go away to europe for a month and my pop is going to take care of it for me. will he have 2 vacuum the gravel or can he justtake some of the water out and replace it without vacuuming the gravel. note that i have an oscar and he is usually messy. can some one help me if so i would greatly appreciate it. 2 hours a
@liamgray100 No it's big enough. They recommend 55 gal for each Oscar. I have 90 gal. One thing to make consider when buying a tank, make sure your depth is atleast 15". Some 90gal are only 12" deep and Oscar's can get 12" wide so it can be difficult for him/her to turn when it's not wide enough.
@trujilbt Oh im sure they can but I think my Oscar is maxed out in length for my tank size. His belly seems to keep growing though and seems to be getting more aggressive when it comes time to feeding :)
@wetpet908 he was red when he was smaller. They change color with age. The lighting I have makes him appear a lot more yellow than he really is. Check out a newer video with my new lights and you will see a difference.
breakspirit is right. i have a 55 with 1 oscar, thats all i can have. i have a sump filter and it keeps the water crystal clear and ammonia free. if u wasnt an oscar, get a 55 or better yet, a 75. and a canister filter. i dont know it a hang-on-back filter will do it.
@mrhepden well... you could get more little oscars... people say its best to have either one oscar or more then two that way the stronger one cant pick on the others
Beatiful oscar fish.(:

They get huge! 90g? Bah, might as well make it a 200g fish tank.... Oscars are hunters and swim for miles so you cant win no matter how big your fish tank is... Some one with a 55g will always dis the guy with the 25g, and if you wait log enough you'll here about the guy that says 90 or 125g is the way to go....... Meh, who cares.

Beautiful Oscar. I have a 2 inch Tiger Oscar named Stanley. Got him about 2 weeks ago and he's already grown about half an inch. Can't wait 'til he gets this size =]
How many filters do you have?

my sis has 2 12" oscars in 55+ gal, there about 3/4 years old and been in the same tank together all there lives, they was about 4" when she got em off me !!! 55 is to small to house 2 fish this size but she has done somthing right coz they are the baddest oscars ive seen about 2" wide and will swallow 5" cichlids all day, check em out !!!

is that tank 2 small 4 that oscar?
liamgray100 1 year ago
@liamgray100 No it's big enough. They recommend 55 gal for each Oscar. I have 90 gal. One thing to make consider when buying a tank, make sure your depth is atleast 15". Some 90gal are only 12" deep and Oscar's can get 12" wide so it can be difficult for him/her to turn when it's not wide enough.
bonesofsteel in reply to liamgray100 (Show the comment) 1 year ago
@bonesofsteel what is 15", is that in inch or feet?
le022691 in reply to bonesofsteel (Show the comment) 1 year ago
@bonesofsteel a lot of oscars will actually get up to 14" to 15" if properly taken care of
trujilbt in reply to bonesofsteel (Show the comment) 1 year ago
@trujilbt Oh im sure they can but I think my Oscar is maxed out in length for my tank size. His belly seems to keep growing though and seems to be getting more aggressive when it comes time to feeding :)
bonesofsteel in reply to trujilbt (Show the comment) 1 year ago
@liamgray100 no, i'm sure its big enough for one oscar

why is it called a red oscar
its yellow.
wetpet908 1 year ago
@wetpet908 he was red when he was smaller. They change color with age. The lighting I have makes him appear a lot more yellow than he really is. Check out a newer video with my new lights and you will see a difference.

how big is ur tank cuz i have a 30 gal and want oscars
STR8PIMPINLCT 2 years ago
you can keep 1 single oscar and nothing else in a 55 gallon tank as the bare minimum size. I have a 125 gallon tank and I wouldn't have more than 2.
breakspirit in reply to STR8PIMPINLCT (Show the comment) 2 years ago
But would a breeding pair be satisfied with a 125 for life? how long could i keep the fry before i could sell them?
Obsidian212 in reply to breakspirit (Show the comment) 2 years ago
breakspirit is right. i have a 55 with 1 oscar, thats all i can have. i have a sump filter and it keeps the water crystal clear and ammonia free. if u wasnt an oscar, get a 55 or better yet, a 75. and a canister filter. i dont know it a hang-on-back filter will do it.

mrhepden 2 years ago
@mrhepden well... you could get more little oscars... people say its best to have either one oscar or more then two that way the stronger one cant pick on the others
fuzzman25 in reply to mrhepden (Show the comment) 2 years ago
take both of them out, move the decorations around, and then put the little one in first, then the big one.
