love the dorm! i'm interested in going to Spelman but i was wondering if this type of dorm is for everybody or just available for freshman's, sophomores, etc.?

@misslulu213 Sorry, i really don't know. I graduated in 2010. But when i was there, i think the dorm was just for juniors and seniors. You should call the housing office if you're really interested and they can help you out!

i have friends that go to spelmen and i didnt know they had suite style so yes dnt get ur hopes up all the dorms dnt look as nearly as nice as theirs!

@tubeykid I know that colleges don't look st your 8th grade grades but I take highschool classes. Like geometry and foreign languages so I have to keep my grades up. One last thing everyone thinks I'm a Oreo I guess I am but would I fit in at spelman cause I don't want to be teased in COLLEGE

I'm sure a lot of girls at Spelman can relate to that kind of name-calling. But the fact is, you have to decide what kind of person you want to be. No matter how old we get, some people will like you, dislike you, make fun of you, or think you're awesome for who you are. Embrace the diversity you add to the world and know that a person worthy of your time would never try to bring you down. You need to be you and let them deal with their own issues.

Ok right now I'm only in the 8 th grade but I can't wait for college I will b on my own and stuff maybe I have been watching to much Greek but oh well me and friend want to attend but she has really bad grades what's the GPA to get in ?

@itouch1010 Well, colleges don't look at 8th grade GPAs. The GPA they'll look at is from high school. And it's good to be excited about college! :) Just make sure that you're applying to a college that you think will help you along your path for your career/future life. Depending on your major, some colleges will prepare you better than others, so really think about that. And tell your friend to get her grades together! Maybe you can help her out, or recommend tutoring?

This can't be a freshman dorm.  Housing people said freshman dorms have no A/C

there is one dorm with a/c that freshmen can live in. but it's only for the honors students. the suites is not for freshman though.

absolutely not. most of the other dorms are very outdated and some of them are a little difficult to live in.

Yes LLC1 has air and they are currently trying to get air condition for the rest of the freshman dorms

I have another qiestion about spelman dorms (I hope to b spelman class of 2013). Are the suites the only dorms that have AC, and at the end of the school year do you have to take ALL of your things that you moved in with out of the dorms?. because i live in PA and it would be very hard to move those things back and forth once a year

no, the dorms LLC1 and LLC2 have AC as well but the rest of the freshman dorms don't have it. yes, you have to take all of your things out of the room at the end of the school year because you will have a different room assignment each yr. a lot of people store their things in Public Storage here in GA. but others (like myself) ship things home. there are a lot of ways to make it convenient. most of my friends are from PA and they make it work.

LOL! Nice video. Hey my mother works as an interior designer there. Oct. 17th was the offical celebration of the new dorms...they are GORGEOUS! My mother designed them (the color scheme...etc.) along with her friend Jone. Hehehe, glad yall like them too;)

yes this is a spelman dorm. it's the new building that they've been working on for the ast 2 yrs. you don't have to be in the honors program. you just can't be a freshman.
