@fourplusseven Yeah, I have the book. True that, Have You Heard was the first Metheny song I listened to, I thought it was 4/4. Like, doesn't it jump from 7/4 to 5/4 to 3/4 and back (among other changes). Its so fun to play, but deceptively complex.

I've never seen a guitar like that - with multiple crosstrings. I noticed the guitar is so big it has to be mounted up on a stand. Was the guitar pat Mathenys Idea? It wouldn't surprise me. The man is a musical genious. Any feedback or response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Metheny's one of our National Treasures...

He performs in the ionosphere, along-side those "annointed" guitar-gods, of Carlos, Clapton, Ray-Vaughn, Segovia, Beck, Page, Eddie, a handful-to-count.

We are truly fortunate, having life paralleling his time here.

So don't get overly-analytical. Just enjoy!

@mccormickbom "Just enjoy"? Well, despite being a less talented musician than Lyle Pat, Steve, Paul, Mark etc one may find it interesting to compare different takes, versions and lineups, what's wrong with that?

For instance, Pat's solo is not one of his greatest on this particular take, and I really miss the cabass sound the percussion player normally uses for this tune... This lineup was great on many many other takes though!

I can tell that Pat was not too happy in this performance. In 8:38 he got off a bit. Very rare for him to do that... but it happens.. He is still one my of the greatest music idols of all time.

I think it's a ibanez semi-acoustic, he generaly uses ibanez.
