  • It's a good idea that you posted this. I would like to say that the postern gate was not next to the North Gate which you show on the video but in the wall to the west/south/west of the castle a photographs of 1864 clearly shows it in the castle wall above the River Nene - also the Danish town centre was not Gold Street - the Saxon town and presumably the Danish town were nearer the river - see John William's 1972 excavation report. Thanks, any way

  • @bibilovski It was a long time ago, 1992, since I researched my info in the public library and made the video, but I would not swear I had every fact correct from that time, so thank you for the correction ;-)

  • this is all just soo different from australia. the atmosphere and the architecture is so different and all the buildings are so old and grand :-)

i mean, look at all the moss! our buildings haven't been given the opportunity to grow it! but then again, it requires moist air and it is quite dry here...

  • Aye we're just a damp, mossy mess! LOL Saying that, it's steadily raining again this morning, as it was all day yesterday!

    :-)

  • lol actually our weather is VERY weird. a couple of days ago we had like three days of rain (stopping and starting, not three days continuously). and then it was back to hotness again! are we in summer or what!?!?! lol
