awesome!!! `Love it... I'm playing clarinet since 2 years and I think there's a long way ahead of me..``But I still have HOPE that someday I'll be playing just like you;```
It´s great the way you play! Would you inform me where can I get these kind of blues sheets, please? I play clarinet and I want to start trying blues! Thanks and keep on playing!
Wish I could play like that! I'm beginning with blues music on my clarinet now! So this is an amazing video to remind me what I can do if I keep practicing! So thank you SO MUCH!
love the ideas you have going on here. theyre really great. im not sure if its the recording or if it was actually you, but it seems like you were trying to sneak in a lot of growls that just werent coming out. also, if you learned how to gliss, it would add a lot to it. just remember that its not the notes that matter, but where the silent notes are placed. be patient with you solo.
very nice man..... if i could give a little critisizm in the higher regester, most of the time when you hit the A your tone goes a little squeaky but thats just me being over critical.... you can't do much with a plastic clarinet however you'v done an excellent job! oh and to help the tone you can invest in a reed called a vandoran and they also make plastic jazz reeds that really help..... excellent job overall though :)
Also, please do criticize, constructive criticism is the best way to improve :D
I'm getting the e13 in a few weeks so hopefully tone should be much better to get than with my old b12.
In response to the reeds, I do use vandoran 2's and vandoran jazz reeds on my saxophone. Though, this day I could have broken all my vandorans and be using a rico royal I had spare, I can't remember :)
I'll check out those plastic reeds though, sounds interesting :)
I approve of this video. Very nice tone, love the energy.
Also, to the "A or Bb" question, I'd like to add that blues and jazz are usually in flat keys; you'd rarely find a jazz piece in D or A major; they're usually in Bb or Ab major, which means you need Bb over A.
Unless you want to challenge yourself and play in Cb major =D
that's a really good start. Did you transcribe that? meaning you listened to the sax and learned the notes by ear? That would be very impressive! Keep working hard man.

Thanks loads! This is one of the most useful comments I've had on music video's :P
I've learned to gliss now, that was 1 year ago I recorded that :P
And it was just the recording, not me trying to growl, I dont like growling on the clarinet :(
But yeah, thanks! I'll record a new video soon :)

Yes, I must say, that was excellent constructive commentary.

The best reeds are legere reeds because their sound. They cost
$20 but if you want to sound good every day than their worth it. I play on them and they never sond bad.

Yeah, I play most jazz by ear tbh. It gets easier as you learn to improvise you can just know what the next note is when you hear it :)
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated :D
m0u53m4t 3 years ago
Thanks :)
Yeah, the b12 really isn't a nice instrument :P
I'm buying an e13 this summer though, can't wait :)
I'm 16 by the way, give yourself 4 years and an upgrade and you'll definatley be able to play as well if not better than me :)
m0u53m4t 3 years ago
Actually its a Buffet Champton b12, a plastic one :(
Its actually really low quality, took me quite some time to get really good sounding notes out of that :P
Clarinet is my best too, but I play sax too and am getting a flute in a week or two :)
How old are you then? I'm british and dont understand the grades system ^-^
