  • @SaveFace23 I've read that it is

  • Good for small gigs?

  • would you reccomend this amp for playing a gig?

  • what the hell are you doing ?

just play some simple chords or riff instead

  • @Kizuatojp You must have a defective model. I play hard and heavy rhythm and this amp kicks ass. It sounds awesome with a distortion pedal and with tweaking the EQ YOU CAN PLAY ANYTHING. I collect amps and play thru Marshalls, Vox, and every Fender amp I can find. You most certainly can play metal. This amp is underrated. You just have to EQ IT. The built in overdrive is on the light side, but nothing a boost pedal, and good distortion can't fix.

  • Nice amp...if you play heavy stuff, get a quality distortion pedal like a suhr riot and put it in front of the clean channel. I am getting one of these and will never use the drive channels at all.

  • suena mal:\

  • tocas como el culo XD y el ampli sonara fuerte xro su distorcion tambien es una cagada :P xro nada q no pueda solucionar una buena pedalera . ZOOM G1u ;) bye by guys

  • i bought it second hand for only 65 euro's and its a gift from heaven it has a nice clean and it sounds even more awsome with the double muff in combo with a hardwire cm2 tube overdrive i play on a guitar i putt toghether myself with some old guitar parts but i put some brand new seymor dunkens in it and now im so epic tis like half sg half les paul en the head of the guitar is the c-shape of en fender strat

  • Hey man, you think it would do a good job on metal songs ?

  • sorry what watt is this? trying to buy one :)

  • Great demo!

  • That amp are great! But its god damn loud! But I love it!

  • @jaczen13 Are you complaing its to loud? You need to rethink your priorities or choose a different instrument hahahaha

  • @eatheapsalot I dont think so... Its loud for playing for myself at home! I find it very very loud, I have a small room! But its a great amp!

  • Comment removed

  • can u put other pedals on it too? cuz i have some behringer pedals and i want 2 buy it and stay using the pedals too

  • is this a good amp for playing punk? like green day, sum 41,etc

  • Is it loud enough to gig with?

  • @LukeGaulMusic Absolutely! I've been doing gigs in bars for over 2 years with this amp. Plenty loud! We have a 4 piece classic rock band and I can't get past 6 without drowning everyone out.

I run a line 6 floor pod plus through it.

  • is this a good amp for blues and old school rock?

  • Price-wise, this amp is perfect if you have effect pedals. It handles distortion pedals perfectly and sounds very sexy with the clean drive. :D

  • How is this amp for High-gain stuff? Not super-high metal, more like Foo Fighters-ish stuff.

  • @TheChuckNorris1997 foo fighters use fender amps but they use bassman

  • is this amp good for alternative rock

  • I run a line 6 floor pod plus through mine and have been playing a monthly gig in bars with it. We are more of a country/classic rock band.. but the floor pod plus solves any distortion problems that some are complaining about.

Great cleans and plenty loud even for the size venues that we've been playing.

It has a great pre-1969 blackface look to it as well!

    Great Amp!

  • Is this good for hard rock- guns n roses, aerosmith, and metal like ozzy, avenged sevenfold, etc

  • That sounded badass on metal. I dint here anyone else play metal on it, and noe that j have I'm buying it!

  • Does this amp squeal like mad when you turn the treble up? I've bought mine today and if I go pass two on the treble on all three channels it makes a horrendous buzzing and squeeling sound. Please reply back cause if it does I know its normal and won't have to return it.

  • is this a good rock/hard rock amp?

  • @XxJD94Xx1 MARSHALL! although fender is good... you cant go wrong with marshall

  • would this amp be good for playing punk rock

  • For the people to know, i've got one of these monsters, and to be honest, the clean channel is pretty damn good, but the distortion, it sounds awful. In my opinion, it isnt even good for blues, because of the sound of it. Sounds like crap, believe me. But overall, the amp is good, you have a nice clean fender channel, a nice Fender Accutronics Reverb (springs) and enough power for all your small to medium gigs needs ;)

  • @Tommys161 You're right the distortion isn't the best. However.. I'm running a line 6 floor pod plus through mine by bypassing the effects channel in this amp and it sounds incredible! You can get some real dirty bluesy sounding distortion. I use that setup twice a month for my bands bar gigs. It's an ok amp alone.. Awesome amp with a floor pod plus!!! Plenty loud for all of the bars I've played in! I've never needed anything past 6 on the volume knob.

  • @MrTelecaster101 You mean by using the clean channel, or using the Pod as Pre amp? Yeah, they are both pretty good options. Either you buy a Pre amp emulator, something like a Vox Tonelab St for example, and you connect it to the power in, or you use nice pedals through the clean channel, both good options, depending on what sounds you are looking for...

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience, i'm looking forward to buy some pedals to help this monster's tone, and this gives me some hope! :)

  • @Tommys161 Using the Pod as a Pre Amp through the power in. This amp really doesn't color the tone that you get from the pod and it's got some punch! I mostly play Blues / Southern Rock and it gets the job done real well!

Sorry if I threw you off about the going past 6 on the Volume knob statement. I've played it clean at gigs as well without the pod and it's plenty loud.

With the Pod.. It drives the amp's volume. It delivers a great Marshall tone!

    Always welcome! Best of luck.

  • with transistor or valve ?

  • Would this amp be great for Metal music? Im looking to buy an amp asap ha

  • @CometTheHedgehog Man, don't ask - just go to the nearest music store -.-

  • @XxJD94Xx1 definitely get the 212r. NEVER get an MG series...:p

  • Sounds good until you turned on the distortion, lol

  • would this work on a ibanez ?

  • valve?

  • Is it loud enough for gigs?

  • @TheRagefan44 Man 100 watts are dammn loud! you will never have to turn it on maximum.! so yes it is loud enough!

  • I have a 1990's 212r and it's still going strong (apart from some cosmetic issues) I use it with my fender highway one and epiphone dot and it sounds great! Is it just me or does this amp have a strange sounding distortion? Maybe not so much a guitar for metal.

  • would this amp sound good wth an ME-70 and an epiphone? i want a solid sound wth sustaine

  • would this be a good amp for pedals?

  • would this be good for a Boss ME-20 and Big Muff? :D

  • @NirvanaRox4Eva,

I have a big muff w/wicker and don't like the way it sounds with the frontman at all (I play a tele)! I was trying to go for a rich, silky sound but it is far from it. Granted, I haven't tried it with other amps but am curious to try it with a tube amp.

  • I bought this amp yesterday and I like it so far, not used to the reverb sound or mid contour yet it's my first big amp, haven't been able to truely test it's power cause my kids were home but they're going to a birthday tomorrow and I plan on rocking the fucking shit out of my neighbourhood on my 2 new 12s with some grunty drop C or drop B metal riffs

  • is this amp good for any kind of metal and rock? like playin metallica, iron maiden, megadeth, guns n roses, ac/dc ,black sabbath, bon jovi

and i'll buy the Ibanez RGA42T with it :)

  • this or line 6 spider 4? if i buy this i will buy a boss me 70 also.

  • @DeftScissor261 Buy this one with the boss me-70

The amount of stuff you will get from this amp along with the boss is 10 times better then the line 6! (you have whammy effects, wah-wah, compressors, lots of distortions and effects, etc,etc,etc...)

  • @DeftScissor261 i have the line 6 spider III. the quality of sound is 10x better on this fender. the spider has a lot of preset tones and the fender would be much better for finding your own sound, and i want the frontman now. id go with the fender unless youre looking for premade sounds and effects

  • i think the distortion sounds great, especially with the Mid-Contour button on

  • Maybe if the reverb sounded more springy, and the distortion is a joke ahahaha.

Pretty good reverb, driveless cleans though.

  • Would this amp be OK to play something like alternative rock, or more precisely the old Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie era)? With a big muff pedal, naturally :D

  • @DavidFUBB i could see this amp being good for that style

  • @rsizemore12 does it work well with multi-fx pedals, like the zoom G2.1u?

  • @DavidFUBB without it even sounds great, i would pick another reverb pedal though,

I own this amp, i love every aspect of it except the reverb, im more into plate's

  • @DavidFUBB If you want that you should get a Marshall JCM or Plexi with a good preferrably Marshall Speaker, or a Fender Bassman

  • @alliumband The Fender Bassman is so awesome!!! I just got one and am amazed with what it can do for guitar!!!!

  • Great video. I have the Frontman 65. On the clean channel, set the Frontman (probably ALL Frontman amps) like this:

Volume: 2 (any louder and your neighbors might get pissed!) LOL..

    Treble: 3

    Bass: 6

  • i love people who talk trash on this amp cause of the drive mode....just get an OD/distortion pedal..DUH!! For the price u can't beat this amp!

  • Fuck anyone who says this is a shit amp. i use mine for death/thrash metal and i love it cant get enough of it turning it up too just 3 rattles the windows in my room

  • I bought this amp a few months ago and i play in a punk band. So naturally i play with lots of raunchy distortion and drive. In my honest opinion this amp SUCKS if you play punk/metal/hard rock or anything like that. The distortion on this amp is just very week and when ya get the drive up alot, the actual tone of it just doesent cut it. If your into Blues/Jazz or anything or play more on a clean setting, this amp is actually perfect. The clean tone is amazing on this amp.

  • @Pogokid150 thats what the boss mt-2 pedal is for. dont trust amps overdrive, unless its a high quality mesa or a marshall. boss pedals make any amp sound awesome.

  • @XxJD94Xx1 it honestly depends on what your going to be using it for. i only use mine for cleans

  • great review :) I was thinking about geting it but my friend says that it has too much treble and he thinks they are shit , but my cousin has it and it sound okay to me (on a gibson sg) what do you think about that amp and how much did it cost ? :)

  • @iConverseMyLife hands down it is a great amp. if it has to much treble turn the treble down duh lol i payed 299 for mine brand new and to this day its the best investment ive made and i have alot of high end amps

  • @rsizemore12 okay thanks :)

  • @iConverseMyLife your welcome

  • @rsizemore12 That's what I was going to say

  • This amp sounds awesome with heavy pickups

  • I'm using this amp for over 1 year, its great for practising (if you find the right spot for the volume, cus its damn loud, once you got the volume right I recommend never touching it again XD).

I also play with friends in a basement, it keeps up with a drummer EASILY.

    Very cheap.

Combine it with a Boss Distortion DS-1 pedal or another one that you like, the drive on the amp is crap compared to that :P.

    Sounds very good clean too.

Keep the mids low, bass and treble high for nice metal sound

  • does this amp have an output jack? could it be connected a cab such as the marshall mg412a?

  • ma come cazzo la suoni sta chitarra dio cane

  • i love this i own one and after a while i've managed to get a good vintage tone!

  • Oh man you play awful!!!!

  • can you run two guitars throught the two inputs and how does it sound? and how do pedals sound??

  • @801Current im not sure if you can run two guitars but my best bet would be no. pedals sound great through it

  • @rsizemore12 acctually you can run two through it

  • @rsizemore12 you can but its no good

  • @rsizemore12 hey can u connect a microphone to this amp?

  • @801Current i have the fender frontman 65r, and yes you can run two guitars in. you can do this on most amps actually. i run a synth and a guitar at the same time, but the two guitars sounded better.

  • @801Current My Brother had this amp, we used to plug both our guitars into it and jam, it gets mushy though, but also i've had two different guitars plugged in to it to play two different parts of a song an acoustic/electric and an electric, it works just fine, wouldn't recomend two guitars set for high gain though, you'd most likely get feedback. Pedals sound fantastic, Plug a Grunge pedal or a Metal Zone into it sounds like a half stack

  • @Ghostofgrace92 Thanks for the replies, I asked on a guitar forum about this and what people said is that no amp head is wired to run two guitars through, plus they blend a lot since the settings are the same. I think I am going with the Bugera V55 head instead and a cab.

To everyone who said that you can, Me and my friend were doing that (not with this amp) but it messed it up...thanks for the replies anyway

  • can uput a review uainga acoustic guitar please

  • I don't like this one. It's got a buzzing sound, and its volume buttons are extremely sensitive.

  • how big is this compared to a fender twin?

  • @coldironhands1 body size its about the same. I think the twins are 60 or 65 watts and the frontman is 100

  • @rsizemore12 yeah, but fender twin is tube

  • @rsizemore12 fender frontman 212r vs Marshall Mg100dfx?

  • @rsizemore12 random question....how much does it weigh? because i'll have to be packing this thing up stairs anytime i want to play it lol

  • @TrippyTheShroom i dont know exactly how much it weighs but its not to bad to carry up steps

  • @rsizemore12 it has 21.6 kg,I have one of this :D

  • @TrippyTheShroom my brother had this amp, a while back, i was 13/14 ish at the time, i had to do the same thing and at that age i had no problems with it's weight. it looks heavier than it is

  • @Ghostofgrace92 ya, im 17 and live upstairs lol...i've had to pack 4x12 cabinets upstairs and those things are a BITCH lol...i was looking to slim down a bit on my rig and this seems pretty good

  • @TrippyTheShroom nto that bad honest ley

  • @coldironhands1

And the "Twin" is an all tube amp, so you can't really compare sounds or weight.

  • @uoft93

    Was i trying to? No.

  • Dear Fender,

Dont Put Drive on Your Amps Anymore

    Thx

    Love Codyxgreen

  • @codygx123 loll yehah iikrr i just bought this amp and its drive channel suckss loll i dont like it, but i gotta deal with it loll

  • @codygx123 at least he should go to learn how to make a cool drive...

  • the Fender Frontman 212r NOW 30% off!!!!!!!

    w w w . cheapbuy-online . c o m /buy-fender-frontman-212r/

  • how is this amp with a boss mt-2?

  • Meu amigo,..

assim você desanima qualquer um a comprar um 212R,..

    _

e esta com uma SE Tremonti ainda,..??

o que tu arrumou para ficar ruim assim féra,.?

  • Meu amigo,..

assim você desanima qualquer um a comprar um 212R,..

    ahshahshsa!!!

  • I'm thinking of getting this amp. how much was it and where did you buy it???

  • Is the distortion on this amp good? I heard that some people think it is weak, which dissappointed me. Also do u recommend this amp?

  • I just bought this amp. My amp has a weird, I guess you can say hissing sound when I plug in my guitar or anything else for that matter and the sound gets louder as I turn up the volume. It also makes this weird poof sound whenvever I turn it off. Is that normal?

  • @DANgerous124 well the poof noise is normal dont worry about that its the reverb doing it. as for the hissing im not really sure why it would be doing that

  • @rsizemore12 I'm not sure why I used the term hissing but is it normal for it to make noise whenever your not playing? For instance, I'll have my guitar volume to 3 and when I go from 1 to 2 it starts making white noise, like a low hum and it gets louder as I turn up the volume. The tone sounds fine but there's just that white noise in the background that's kind of distracting.

  • @DANgerous124 It's normal if you have bad pickups. What you are hearing is feedback from the pickups working like microphones. What guitar are you using and what are in it for pickups?

  • @Eguitarist93 I'm still using my first guitar which is a First Act from Wal-Mart so I can understand what you're saying about the bad pickups. I've had it for five years and even though it's a First Act guitar, it still handles better than my friend's Ibanez. The amp sounded fine when I used it at my last gig. The feedback only happens when I have it cranked up real loud and I'm not playing the guitar. I can deal with it til I get a new guitar. Thanks for the help man.

  • @DANgerous124 You could get a noise gate too. ISP makes really nice noise gates. Pretty much any single coil pickup will cause that feedback. It's nice for harmonics but it does get annoying.

  • @rsizemore12 it could be your pickups. Are they single coil pick ups?

  • @DANgerous124 got the poof on my lil frontman too, it's not bad it's just electricity fading.., the hissing is more like humming, it's normal too, what guitar do you use?

  • @MrAdeVogel I still use my first guitar from five years ago, a First Act guitar with single coil pickups from Wal-Mart. It's not a bad guitar at all. I'm waiting to upgrade to a new guitar once I have enough money saved up.

  • @DANgerous124 well mate, i had my first guitar until a year ago, i always said it was'nt a bad guitar at all, with it's stock pots 'n single coils, then i once hooked it up to a marshall stack, kaboom guitar gone.

Cheap guitars are no good at all, be sure to start out around 300 euros/dollars it's worth the money when you upgrade your amp, also you wanna get gold plated cords, it keeps the buzzing down ;)

i sold my epiphone les paul because it was crap, now i wanna buy this amp, and a 300

  • @DANgerous124 euros guitar, like a fender squier or something, until that i'm borrowing my friend's B.C.

rich Kerry king V it's awesome, only not so awesome for my litte fender frontman from the 90's lol it's 25 watts pure buzz ;D

okay it's pathetic, gonna upgrade very very soon withing now and 4/5 weeks lol

  • @DANgerous124 That hissing sound is normal as well, i suggest u get a suppressor like the Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor. That should remove that buzzing and give u a clear playing sound :D

  • @DANgerous124 are your cables good?

  • @wrona003 yeah if you have bad cables that would cause hissing

  • @rsizemore12 feed back maybe?

  • @DANgerous124 id say its your guitar there are some posts on you tube explaining this problem check out shielding guitar cavity should explain hope o was of some help

  • Hey i am really considering buying this amp and i play harder rock so what are your thoughts or the gain on the amp

  • @ivur8623 how can you say that? fender is so well known for clean sound...i have this amp, and the cleans are fucking sweet...

  • what guitar do you use? nice video :p

  • what guitar are u use? nice video :p

  • Does it come with a footswitch for channel changes?

  • @Tallukeah yes

  • Can I use it as stereo with my multi effex pedal???

  • all i want to know is , is it worth the money?

  • @thedondude1234 it is a decent amp and is really loud but id go for a line six half stack if i were you

  • Qual guitarra esta usando brother? Faltou afinar...

  • Qual guitarra está usando brother?

  • Comment removed

  • btw is it worthy for thrash metal??

  • that bluesy sound is shitty

  • What guitar did you use???

  • @freymaroto PRS mark tremonti se

  • @rsizemore12 WHy 2 inputs?

  • @RigorMortis203 Input 1 is for most guitar pickups, Input 2 is for guitars with high output pickups, it kinda has less sensitivity.

  • Comment removed

  • ITS SO LOUD ! I'VE NEVER PUT MINE PAST VOLUME 5 !

  • wich is song of 1:18 ?

  • @nirvanalive4ever it sounds like the intro to "wherever you will go"

  • @nirvanalive4ever it sounds like the intro to "wherever you will go" by the calling

  • @ReviewerElectronics thank you again !

  • @ivur8623 FUCK OFF

  • @ivur8623 ive had to tweak it alot. I run a boss chorus pedal through it now and its amazing

  • This Amp have a good bass or a flat sound ( sorry for my english ) .??

  • Who cares if he is good or bad at guitar or not? If you don't like his playing then why are you listening to it?

Not that guy is a poor player, but why would someone put a bad performance on youtube? You can take as many takes as you want, so why choose to put the poor one on the internet. And people always have an excuse for poor playing like not warming up. Warm up, practice for a week what you are going to play then hit record. It would take less time to do that then try to redeem yourself

  • @MrCrazyDunka im not worried about him or the other guy. You know me and my band get to tour all of america and were leaving in my to go to germany and japan im making the money and living the dream hes not so im not worried.

  • @rsizemore12 I call bullshit. Seriously. If you were doing that I'd have heard of you. Nice try though. That Fender FM sucks, by the way. Get a tube amp.

  • @YoWassupMang i have 3 tube amps just so you know. And i never said you had to beleive me i know where i am in the music industrie thats all that matter it just seems like your a little jealous our new album will be on i tunes amazon and walmart.com illl let ya know when its out so you can feel like a true ass.

  • does it have a line in jack input or output.whatever the fuck it would be called lol ?

  • If people don't like the distortion on this amp, just buy a SansAmp Pedal, that will solve your distortion problems.

  • @CorvetteCoonass true true

  • do you have 2 inputs? you can plug 2 guitars?

  • @gastonbarker yes, sir
