Probably one of the very last of the truly great modern contemporary classics. American storytelling beforee the cyberage crept like a shadow and infiltrated a lot of what we do and think. Its important ot keep on the mantlepiece of american folklore. The bucolic nature of the film is missing from todays entertainment and yet is such a valuable piece of americas growth. A damn good trailer too. One reason why we WONT see it like this is I thnk the narrator for the trailer died a few years ago.

Sam was a sweetheart but he also made you want to slap sense into him because he was so naive and out of touch with reality. I hate how he died but at the same time you knew he was too innocent (or green) to survive on his own. Father Ludow knew it too and why he told Tristan to watch over him.
