  • First off, the ad for this video was for the Samsung galaxy SII Skyrocket xD Buy my question here is: I'm upgrading my phone from the HTC Evo 4G(I hate that phone, just saying), and I'm trying to decide whether i should go ahead and get the Epic 4G Touch on March 1st, or wait and get the Galaxy Nexus when it gets released on Sprint. Any opinions? and if its the Epic 4G Touch, should I get black or white?

  • Spint iphone 4s or Samsung Galaxy s2

  • @Manu10soccer1 Galaxy S2! :)

I think it depends on whether you like iOS or Android more, and whether you want a phone with a large screen or compact form factor.

  • @SmartKeitai is so fucking complicated i have both phones and i don't know which one to keep

  • I love it on reviews when they say oh and the Vamos guide. hahaha

  • I'm a get this phone soon

  • Samsung feels so cheap!

  • @JuiCiiLayDii05 from your reply it seems to me that you like to customise a lot and also the fact that you're already using an android phone i suggest you get the epic 4g touch. it's an awesome phone period.

  • Why would someone get a iphone over this.

  • @MAGNATAR76 because they are either brainwashed by apple's marketing or simply following the crowd and think that the crowd is always right.

  • which phone is better for me?

I'm getting a new phone and I'm torn between the Samsung galaxy s2 and the iPhone 4s.

i like fast, lightweight, connection, social networking, and using my phone on the go (on the bus, gps, etc) i like apple alot. but I'm starting to notice how sexy the Samsung galaxy is. and that it has better features, which phone do you think i should get? reply ASAP

  • @blaxroxbro galaxy s2. it has way more features, more customisable, more open (you can even get paid apps for free legally from 3rd party app stores like amazon and getjar) on top of android market. it is also very lightweight which is good for using long hours and has faster data connection speeds.

  • is there mp3 on this phone or do you have to download it??

  • I hate the wallpaper.

  • I just upgraded to this phone from an HTC evo. I love the samsung epic 2 it blows EVO out of the water with build and the battery life is awesome. I love how light it is.

  • this phone can accept all Sim card .

  • @ferdaws2000 yes

  • Hey! Epic 4g Touch? HTC rezound? Droid Razr? hich i better?

  • no headphones??

  • @a7chemist android phones do not usually come with headphones, however i have my dr dre beats so i could care less

  • watta chode phone

  • Damn that started up quickly!

  • @SmartKeitai I Personally would have to say that the Epic 4G Touch is a great phone overll but what I dont like about it is that it has a cheapy, Plastic feeling to it, does not have a kick stand, Epic 4G does not have the webtop features, Charger and Hdmi share the same port. Altohugh the Motorola Photon has a boring Interface, It does have world calling features, sim card the phone is unlockable, can be used with carieers. So I like the photon, Epic does not blow the photon out.

  • which is better for me: the epic 4g touch vs. iphone 4s??

i have a mac computer and i love my ipod touch... BUT i have to carry my HTC Hero in my left pocket and my ipod touch in my right pocket...and to top it off my apple ear buds are completely dead. (this is why im leaning towards the iphone 4s) i can condense my phone and mp3 into one device and i will get a bonus new pair of headphones)

yes, i know my HTC Hero has a mp3 interface, but itunes is much easier to cycle through IMO.

    opinions?

  • @pivvot Sounds like you've already made your decision. If you love your iTouch and want to combine your music player with your phone, then you should probably go with the iPhone 4s. You already know that you like iOS and it has solid hardware too. For me, the iPhone's screen is too small after using 4.3" and 4.5" screened devices, but you're coming from a Hero so that's a non-issue. Btw, have you tried third party Android music players? Poweramp is a good one, also the newer Google Music app.

  • @SmartKeitai well it only sounds like that i made my decision because ive only looked into the iphone 4s(mainly b/c its FINALLY at sprint) but then i saw this samsung epic next to it for the same price and began to wonder which is better.. i did not know that there were other third party music players.. ive always stuck with the one on the device(htc hero) maybe if the user interface is almost as easy. but theres also the problem that i would have to buy a san disc with more memory :/

  • @pivvot Yup, there are a lot of 3rd party music apps in the Android Market. Not sure how some would run on the Hero tho (super outdated specs). Also, the Hero uses HTC's custom music player, Samsung has their own too. It's not a universal experience on Android. If you're interested in both, you should really just go to a Sprint store and check them out to see which wows you the most. Oh, and Epic 4G Touch has 16GB built-in storage and 16GB sandisk microSDHC class 4 cards are like $15 on Amazon.

  • @SmartKeitai now the only question is... will i need to drag and drop files from my mac/itunes to the epic 4G touch like i have to do on my HTC Hero?

thank you for your in-depth and very helpful replies! i promise i won't bother you with more questions hahah

  • @pivvot Thw Samsung Epic 4G Touch.

  • PHOTON 4G or EPIC TOUCH 4G?

  • @Johbrownn Epic 4G Touch - it's thinner, lighter, faster, and has a bigger screen. Photon 4G has higher resolution qHD display, but I'm starting to prefer Super AMOLED Plus screen tech, despite the WVGA resolution. I also prefer Samsung's custom UI over Motorola's. This phone just zips through everything, while similar Motorola devices I've used can slow down once in a while. Which are you leaning towards and why?

  • @SmartKeitai tu padre

    jajajajajaj

  • @Johbrownn same decision with me

  • We just benchmarked the Epic 4G Touch, check out the video in the description or video response section to see the impressive results.

  • I think that the european version in much pretty than this!

  • This phone may be thin but damn it's huge!!!!!!!!!

  • No overheating so far, just extremely slow charging, esp. from the default samsung charger. I switched to a charger I bought from Walmart and it's still going slow but a lot faster than the factory charger. Seems like 3-4 hours to charge from Dead to 100%. In case anyone wanted to know. Love the phone so far, long as overheating doesn't start to be a problem. So far so good!

  • @babyblueg4o9 Glad yours isn't overheating! And yeah, I've noticed with a few Samsung Android phones that they tend to take a little longer to charge than devices from other manufactures. But also remember the E4GT has an 1800mAh battery, whereas most Android phones from a year ago have around 1500mAh batteries. I'm sure that only adds to the charging time.

  • @babyblueg4o9 how good is the sprint speeds?

  • @1010lonestar compared to AT&T, Tmobile, Verizon? Terrible, extremely slow.

  • Respond to this video... my old iPhone 3GS was faster on the Internet than this phone is.

  • @babyblueg4o9 ignore the beginning of this comment, it was supposed to be attached to my last response to the other question, iunno what happened. Sorry.

  • @babyblueg4o9 hahaha really?

  • @1010lonestar absolutely. But I'm hoping that it's a software/firmware or w/e problem and that it could be fixed with an update..Sprint's supposed to be upgrading their radio towers spring of 2012. But yeah for now my iPhone 3GS rapes my Epic 4G Touch on the Internet through cellular network (On wifi of course the E4GT wins by a landslide)

  • @1010lonestar all in all, I love the phone.

  • Have you had consistent problem with the phone overheating with just regular not rooted or overclocked usage? I read from a chunk of ppl online that they replaced several of their Epic 4G Touch and they all overheat like crazy and won't charge and such. :/

  • @babyblueg4o9 The one I have seems to be fine - no overheating even when playing high-end games for a while.

  • @SmartKeitai Ah okay, that's relieving to hear. Thanks for replying!

  • make sure you return it with in 14 days as sprint no longer has a 30 day return policy.

  • im in love with this phone x3

  • Lol the recharger is copyed too!!!The iphone charger looks like this but it's white

    AVESOME!!

    This is a copy!

  • yes, this is an iphone copy! The box is copyed too!

  • been looking for reviews about this phone, but it dosn't seem like there's alot of ppl review it.

  • oh my god...the phone has a 15 second boot time. FREAKING AWESOME!

  • @wtfpwno0b Thanks for the comment!

I did the same, got the EVO 3D at launch, and this phone's screen just blows me away. I'm a big fan of large displays (pun intended). Super AMOLED Plus looks incredible, almost like looking at a high resolution photograph (wide viewing angles without loss of quality). EVO 3D is an excellent phone too, though. Can't wait for 720p displays from Samsung!

  • @dan1996DO Thanks, usually a couple weeks... in other words, not long.

  • i like the i997 more , the android will surpase the 8 mgpx ? do a 12 mpx camera whit xenon flash

  • @gavrilaeugen i997 is the Infuse 4G right? That's another hot Samsung phone, but I think it's only single-core and has less RAM.

Japanese Android phones already have many 13-megapixel cameras. Check out the Sharp AQUOS PHONE 104SH, Panasonic LUMIX Phone 101P, and Fujitsu-Toshiba ARROWS Z ISW11F.

That being said, MP count can be deceiving. The image sensor is more important. For example, HTC's 8MP cameras can't compared to the 5MP camera on iPhone 4. I'd prefer improved sensors. :)

  • @SmartKeitai can u make a video n8 vs s2 720p end speeker test pls ?

  • As always, nice review. How long do you get to keep the review units before you return them? Just wondering. :)

  • Is this version of the s2 only sold in the us or will it come to europe aswell?

  • @paspoert123 I think you'll see something like it or even better months down the line. I believe Samsung is holding an event later this month in London, so that's probably where they would announce any new devices for Europe. They recently announced the Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy S II HD LTE for Korea, maybe something similar will land in Europe? They both have a 1.5GHz dual-core processors, 4.5-inch display, NFC, and the latter has 1280x720 resolution (like Nexus Prime).

  • @SmartKeitai Looks like they are making new stuff every couple of months i love samsung phones and tablets but they really shouldnt make so many versions dont u agree?

  • @paspoert123 I like how they release multiple sized tablets since people have different preferences, but they should probably slow down with the phones. They're all basically the same form factor, but with an upgrade here and there. It would be more impressive if they held off on some of those new features and released them all at once in one phone each year. Then maybe we wouldn't feel like our phones are outdated a few months after release. :(

I can't wait for the 720p HD displays though.

  • Perfect phone, just one thing - too big.

  • @megamastah I had that concern, but was pleasantly surprised when seeing it's almost the same size (about 0.1" longer/wider) as the EVO 3D & Droid Bionic, despite the larger 4.52" display. I guess Samsung managed the spacing around the screen better. Plus, the E4GT is thinner than those phones. My hands aren't that big and honestly I don't feel like it's a burden. If it was thicker/heavier, then it may be a different story. Or do you think 4.3-inch screens are too big, too? What's your limit?

  • @SmartKeitai This Epic phone is 5mm wider and 5mm longer than SGS2. Sure, improvement in screen estate is more noticeable than what you would expect from a slight increase in size. Having that said, while SGS2's dimensions are still bareable for me, I don't see myself holding anything bigger in near future, if ever. I use my phone (currently SGS1) mostly one handedly, and it takes just one view of alleged Nexus Prime (4,65in) leaked video to realize, that it's too much for one hand. Thanks SK

  • lol its a mini tablet

  • Nexus Prime

  • Does anyone know if this phone will release on Tmobile? Or a tweaked version? I was thinking of switching to verizon for the iphone 4s, but if this releases on tmobile, I'll just wait. Answers appreciated :)

  • @pianplay You can order T-Mobile's version of the Galaxy S II online on October 10th (in stores on 12th). It's basically the same as this one, but it uses Qualcomm's 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor.
