  • This is wonderful! Mr. Somers' imitable orchestration comes across splendidly, while the "oriental" lyrics sound so quaint. I love the intro before the vocal - especially the gong crashes...

  • Many thanks for that info-i will look into getting it.I do have a 78 of Cicely Courtneidge somwhere singing songs from the film, and also a great Jay Wilbur 78 of "the winds in the west",and "We'll all go riding on a rainbow",i may look out for next weekend.

  • You're very welcome!

  • I don't have a copy, but the music is to be found on "British Cinema and Theatre Orchestras -- Volume 2": You Ought To See Sally On Sunday, If l had Napoleon's Hat, The Wind's in the West, y Wild Oat, We'll All Go Riding On A Rainbow, I Want a Fair and Square Man, Ain't She the Dainty (GUILD GLCD 5122).

  • Does anyone know of a copy of"Aunt Sally" a 1933 Cicely Courtneidge film that apparently included Leslie Holmes singing with Debroy Somers band.I recall it being on tv,but for some reason didnt record it at the time-very annoying!!
