Technically, it has no color as the gravity is so strong that light cannot escape it. It is not necessarily that its color is black, but that no light reflects off of it so it has no color. The color of objects that you see is the reflected wavelengths of that object, but a black hole reflects no wavelengths so saying it is devoid of color is more accurate than saying its color is black.
