she has a very soulful voice putting a lot of feeling into this song it should have that. sometimes too much feeling just does not sit well with some people. they do not know how to handle it. appreciate this for what it is. open mind.
i can remember some songs sarah vaughn sang made her sound like a man too, donna was a great fixture, from the early to mid 60's loved her then and still do
this is an absolutely horrible rendition! this song is just not suited for her. very disappointing. i prefer the manhattan transfer's version any day. and the ad libs original was a classic.
Donna Loren is so beautiful and has such a powerful, soul-ful voice that is so beautiful to listen too!! Its a wonder how she wasn't able to get more songs of her own!! I love listening to her sing!
Donna Loren! Like many, I first became aware of her in the beach movies. Even at age 9, I didnt understand why they would feature another brunette who sang so much better than Annette. My Mother, who liked to take us to the Shore Drive-In in Va Beach, suggested that the producers did it to keep Annette in line, like she could always be replaced by Donna! Hahaha. Of course not true! Ive read that Sam Arkoff was so impressed by her powerhouse contralto, he just wanted to give her a shot.
I love Donna too Janster 59. Thought it was really rude that Marlo Thomas essentially stole Donna Lorens 60s look and image for That Girl. It looked better on Donna than Marlo.

I remember liking everything about Donna Loren. I liked her looks and loved her style of singing. Perfect chops for singing the blues.
Wonder whatever happened to her.

Donna always had some big hair on "Shindig!". That's a positive thing, too.

I love this song no matter who does it. The Manhattan Transfer did a terrific version also when Laurel was still in the group.

Yes she sings no better than Pat Boone, The perpetual White cover Boy! But that is not what's happening hear!
She is just the IN HOUSE SINGER, I think on Hullabaloo or Shindig doing a current hit!
Not stealing someone else's music!
Glad you could tell the difference in the music!
Most people today can,t!
They think the Beatles and Annete Funicello were singers!
Don Rickles in Beach Blanket Bingo told Frankie Avalon, You Can't "Sing Boy".
You Just can't "SING".
