  • Bunch of geriatrics would be hard put to reach the second round of a talent contest on the end of Clacton pier.

  • When in Texas....do as we do!!!, Steel guitar and all!! Loved it Mick

  • Waylon would be proud !! Nice Job.

  • God bless the Stones, being a die hard Waylon fan, seeing them do this just shows how much respect the world of music had for him, he was the king!

  • Love it! This one's from October 22, 2006 North American tour

  • The Stones aren't afraid to try anything different. Good for them ! Rock, country, jazz, these guys are fantastic.

  • Ha ha, love it! I got a chance to work with Waylon in the late 80s. Still like his version better, but gotta give kudos to The Rolling Stones. Very entertaining!

  • The Stones does it better than the original with Waylon.

  • @1kingofvikings

don't get carried away now ahahaha.Nice tribute, but Waylon's version is best ofcourse.

  • @1kingofvikings You're kidding, right?

  • LOve it !!!

  • @Mawogdawalldahonk Retard.

  • Although a ROCKER in 75, my stepdad had the single 45 of Waylon's. I was 16 then& in between SABBATH,ZEPPELIN,BAD CO.,ZZ,FOGHAT,MONTROSE,AEROSMITH,SKYNYRD,B.O.C.,NAZARETH,B.T.O......I took a strange but intense liking to WAYLON&that song! Seems like it was live(PRETTY SURE) LOOONG time ago! Anyway 2or3 yrs. later the "OUTLAWS ALBUM" BLEW UP and THANKFULLY helped to merge rock and country. Of course there were others ,before&after, alot of credit to spread fersure! NO BETTER PLACE TXS! STONESREPAY

  • Funny how all those British rockers loved our 50's/60's rock and country musicians.. I guess back when they were starting out guys like Waylon, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash etc were their rebels that rubbed the British snobs the wrong way :D

  • Thanks for posting this unique video. That Texas crowd loved it and so did I.

One thing I love about YouTube to see things I never imagined. Very cool!

  • Give em credit for doing this , but Ronnie although a great guy hasn't really got past a first week beginners level on the pedal steel guitar , its a very difficult thing to play though, very very difficult .

  • Heheheheh! This is hilarious! Go Stones!

  • It's nice to see The Stones show Hoss respect.I think it was classy but i never would have dreamed The Stones would have done this one.Great post thanks

  • @steinsteel your obviously not serious.............

  • Im Sorry Sir.I really dont want to talk bad about anybodys favorite.Music is a very personal thing.

  • This was in 2006 not 2007

  • Sorry- Ron Wood was really lame on steel. Terrible intonation, and hangs out on the pedal down position. Rank beginner steel player. Other than that, I applaud them for playing this tune.

  • @ironhoarder

lol, he's done better. He's pedal pushin cause he ain't sure when or what the next chord is gonna be. But it was a game effort and mostly pretty fun.

  • @ironhoarder

    I agree.

  • wow ronnie on pedal steel! Way cool! The stones have always had a tad bit of country influence to their music to bad ol waylon and gram parsons r no longer with us...... rock on cosmic american music!

  • World's Greatest Rocking 'n' Roll Band paying homage to Ol' Waylon, Bob Wills, and the Texas Playboys.

Can I get a Whoop Whoop!!!

  • Ronnie Wood on pedal steel is fantastic.

  • Waylon's covered the Stones a few times. Great to hear them cover one of his on their "Bigger Bang" tour.

  • Ronnie wood on slide is awesome

  • Gotta give them credit for tryin!

  • @alienhuman Love it and love the Stones ....Keith being my personal favorite. Of course NO ONE tops Waylon, the best ever. sj

  • @alienhuman FOR TRYING? that was amazing!!

  • @alienhuman the stones don't try....they do

  • HE actually didnt do too bad on steel playing hahahahah!

  • This is what they call Growing up in public!

  • Great cover and good steel guitar. Waylon could have done it this way.
