There is crap music in every decade, and there was certainly a whole lot of it in the 80's, just like there was in the decades before, and there was in the 90's, 00's and the present. History and hindsight weed out the crap, as it doesn't stand the test of time, which always makes the past look better.

I was in the 1st grade when this came out and I thought it was THE coolest song. My brother and I used to run downstairs and turn on MTV and it was like always on. We even saw them on TV in the live concert version and it was totally cool, we thought.
