during the summer i spent a few weeks in germany for school. we visited this camp and all i can say is...well...i just cant describe it. it sense of dred and death hung in the air and no one talked the whole time. its weird to try to describe it to someone who hasn't been there. i just cant get over it

My Great Grandmother was my Role Model- she was strong and although hateful and blunt- her strong nature and heart made me strong- she always told me- that I resemble his legacy and are the strongest of her Great Grand Children! I never even saw this Camp - I just saw Pictures. My heart aches for my family and any other family that lost Members this way! I will always honor my Great Grandfathers Name and his legacy- I am his legacy and he is sadly mine! And my children will be as well....

Thank you for sharing- until now I had no clue where my Great Grandfather had died- he died here- we have nothing of him but his name and memories. Altough this aches my heart- it gives me and my family some kind of conclusion if you want to call it that! After him my family suffered so badly and never found Peace- my family is the most depressed and restless family you will ever meet- but we are strong- my great-grandmother Martha -his wife survived with 7 children and died close to 100 years
