Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Both bands are amazing. However,vocals are subjective to who or what you style you like better. Collective Soul doing AC~DC who is a hard driving metal playing machine. Collective Soul who is a lot more mellow & not a metal/hard rock band doing a pretty good cover. BELIEVE ME there are a lot worse cover of Highway To Hell out there. Props for doing a pretty decent job. Vocals could have been better. But they enjoyed it and hey it is a concert.

3 days ago I watched their concert, I was so amazed, what a great band to watch live, what you hear on the record is multiplied ten folds. Ed roland is an astounding frontman, his performance on stage is in a whole nother level. Im also a big fan of guitar virtuosos (Vai, Petrucci), i would like to say that Joel Kosche (lead guitarist) is a very creative guitar genius comparable to edge of U2 but he can shred. Hope you could watch them perform live. Collective Soul absolutely Rocks!!!

AC-DC detunes 1 whole step for alot of their songs, sometimes 2 steps.

I guess what I am calling a step or two steps is one or two notes down, tuning to D or D flat instead of tuning to E. To some a step is considered more than that.

I would love to hear them do some AC/DC! Highway to Hell wasn't bad, almost an INXS feel to it, which was strange but cool. But I would have rather heard them do Whole Lotta Rosie which was the second tease.
