dead space 3 may come out because at the end of dead sapce 2 the transmission is saying to pick ups the pieces of the marker most likely to put it back together and then more necromorphs and isaac there should be a co opmode that would be sweet just like cod zomnies but with necromorphs
I have been playing and it is almost too intense...not sure if I am really comfortable with the level of horror and violence. I am playing it mainly because I like si-fy. I was reluctant to start this game after playing the first...when I opened it up and saw 2 disks...I was like oh crap..more dark hallways and death from every angle.
If there is a 3rd I will not be buying it or playing it. I found it too much even in the casual mode. I am at the end..I hope fighting toward the marker..
Ok DEAD SPACE 2 doesnt have as much as an impact as the first one in the scary department because we expect it.In the first game it was all new so it was frightening.However in this game they have paid more attention to the sci fi and i love it.Its the best sci fi horror game ive ever played.It does get scary as hell though near the end when you have to face your past ;) To be honest this game is a fucking masterpiece and they (visceral) have done an amazing job.
I commend EA for making this game and their beautiful graphics engine, believable characters, and setting. After beating the first game twice, I thought it wouldn't be so scary anymore. But I have beaten Dead Space 2 3 times and some parts still get me.

who sends a tiny repair team (not recon, repair) to a gigantic ass ship, the most famous planet cracker ship of them all infact, to check out what's going on when it goes completely dark and cuts off any kind of communication. no communication from a gigantic ship with hundreds of crew members, and then doesn't suspect a thing when they go dark too?
@JacktheRampant The government sect of Unitologists knew about what was going on and had already sealed off that entire sector, they needed to send in someone so that it wasn't too suspicious.
@JacktheRampant The Company cracked the world illegally so the Company wouldn't want to make any big fuss over a lost ship in an area it wasn't supposed to be in. They would want to send a small repair crew to just check out things. And the military knew about the situation for the most part so they wouldn't want that marker experiment getting out. And the civilian public was told later it was a terrorist attack.
No, the only hole is how did the UMS Valor get taken over by one necromorph?
@LostDarkCloud easy, kill a few unsuspecting civilian crew members, infect them so they become necros, and then all hell breaks loose, plus the marines wouldn't know how to kill the necromorphs
@JacktheRampant well it is known in the game that when they crack a planet the planet sometimes kinda makes a pulse that shuts down systems and therefore didnt expect anything big BUT when isaacs ship went dark 2 another were sent out which ofc they lost contact to aswell then a military was send out i believe ! and this happens between 1-2 game you can watch the movies if you want to =)
@JacktheRampant The government knew what was in the planet, sending a small team including Kendra Daniels, who was sent there to get the red marker. A small team may have been needed so Kendra wouldn't have too much trouble if someone opposed her taking the red marker. Then, this is just how I see it.
@JacktheRampant it was a trap all along ? ...they never wantet to repair the ishimura...that´s just what they said...they wanted to see how the situation is...and than steal the marker with the halb of this battle ship that ironicly also crashed into ishimura...
@JacktheRampant The Government knew about the Marker's effects on people. The small repair crew, and the O'Bannon were all crews told they were headed their as a recon/investigation/repair crew, while a member of the government goes along with them. Kendra from the first game knew what was going on, she was sent to recover the Marker, no one had any intension of saving the Ishimura.
They sent the USG Valor, a Destroyer, too, it was not only the Kellion.
Regarding the lack of CEC support, they were there illegaly, and any private corporation would cover its tracks after something of this magnitude happened. The CEC knew what they were jumping in to. They knew the risks, and they took it. That's why only small dispachments were sent.
@JacktheRampant Dont you remember? It was all planned. but I can see why you would be thinkin that. I dont know why isaac didnt question the efficiency of his team compared to the size of the ship. I woulda just been like "aw eff this shiz."
@KindomHPrincess Yea but Isaac went there to see his girlfriend. That was his initial incentive for going there in the first place. If not, it probably would have been some other guy, Generic Engineer #3 pehaps.

If the Government found out the company was there they would be in extreme trouble so by sending a small team out they hoped to fix things quietly without attracting any attention to themselves.
@JacktheRampant A, I don't think the CEC was fully aware of the situation when they sent the team, and B, it's possible that Earthgov msy have manipulated things so that Kendra could get to the Red Marker without interference. Little did they know, they were also sending the universe's biggest bamf necromorph killer too....

So the Corperation most likely thought that it was a magnetical problem from the planet being cracked causing interferance to communication. So they most likely didn't think much of it when their team went dark too. The reason they dont know it was bad was most likely because Issac and their team got there roughly a week after it went dark. idk just a possibility.
Right, but realistically, they wouldn't have suspected that it had fallen to a monstrous alien infection which requires the intervention of a well-armed rescue team. It could very well have been a problem with communications, and nothing more. Kendra herself, at the beginning of Dead Space 1, reveals that the ship has a busted array, before they even land and discover the nightmare within. Without a functioning array, no one aboard could have sent any message.
@JacktheRampant Its a conspiracy. The marker was planted there, so they were probably hoping that the crew of the Kellion would survive and come back to testify to the results. Hence, why Kendra is actually an agent, to make sure that they actually have the chance to make it back. If she were just a normal person, then no, it wouldn't make sense at all, but she's a government agent.
they should really make this into a movie and ea should be the film company i mean look at ubisoft with the success of the lineage series(awesome) take note ea Altman be praised!!!
Played a couple of hours of DS2. For better or worse, its more of the same. If you didn't like the first one, the sequel is going to do jackshit to change your opinion. On the other hand, if you liked DS1, then you'll love it.
If your parents play games with you, tell them to watch this trailer only during the day. That warning also includes that wimpy friend in your group (even if its you), or your girlfriend (cause she'll become your security blanket), or you therapist (cause you'll need one), or if you screamed "Oh S**t! Oh S********iiiiiiitttt!!!!" playing the first game. Bet you're rethinking that childhood dream of becoming an astronaut right?
So the red marker was "long lost and long forgotten" and they tought it would bring human immortality, even they builded it themselfs. Aaaand it brought doom but then Isaac notices that it could be used to stop the ivasion. I don't get it... ...so the black marker has actually nothing to do with the storyline?

For once i can actually symphatize with the "restricted for no reason" strategy. I mean if they had said "Okey guys, we screwed up and created another marker that makes you go batshit and turns bodies into monsters. Please don't go here" then the markerheads... err i mean unitologists, would have probably gone there much sooner because "it is a divine relic!".. Ah come on! We all know that religious fanatics dosn't think straight in these matters! :D
The first one was great. Burning necros with the flamer, which you couldn't use in a vacuum. That shows attention to detail if you ask me.
I enjoyed it a helluva lot and got really into the atmosphere. And it was quite long too. And though I didn't find it scary as such, it was a heady and intense game.
BTW I spent all of my time hoping the poor bastard would find a nine, but alas, he didn't. I know its not really in the spirit of things, but its not survival horror w/o one.
Dead Space 1 was a success with me, I remember sitting up in my room for hours and hours on school nights, with my headphones in. It made me hallucinate on the odd occasion. I especially hated the part where you ran into that room, with the guy hitting his head on the locker, it was gruesome. Cannot wait to get hold of this, I really hope it's a success and EA haven't wrecked the whole Dead Space franchise.
@MrBidoosh oh, lol. well I started playing it today and it's my first proper survival horror ever, I think. It's great so far. I got the ps3 limited edition too, so will be cool to play extraction on the Move with my friend :)
I was playing the demo for my 5th time, but with my astro a40s on almost full volume.The necromorphs sound so creepy, especially the pack. The sound really does make the game even better than it really is (and the game is fucking amazing.)
I think I have to pause this at 3:02, I'm on the final chapter. Had the game for ages and the DS2 demo prompted me to play on the first game. Yup, it's totally awesome and brings a new lease of life to a cinema surround system.
Totally needs to be played on a 5.1 system (at least), picked up for £9.99 best buy ever.
@Sypiie I am not sure to be honest but I have heard roomers that people may be speculating they might do a film. If they do I really hope this will be a master piece and it should have sequels.
@RiyuuSan The beginning of the story is the 6 comics and the film is just before Dead Space 1. The comics are funny.. when I started watching the first one I thought it was dubbed :)
They have done a great job with bringing out the atmosphere of Event Horizon in the game. I've only played the original Dead Space for around 30 minutes..... its terrifying! There are very few games that can do this to ya!

Played a couple of hours of DS2. For better or worse, its more of the same. If you didn't like the first one, the sequel is going to do jackshit to change your opinion. On the other hand, if you liked DS1, then you'll love it.

So the red marker was "long lost and long forgotten" and they tought it would bring human immortality, even they builded it themselfs. Aaaand it brought doom but then Isaac notices that it could be used to stop the ivasion. I don't get it... ...so the black marker has actually nothing to do with the storyline?

For once i can actually symphatize with the "restricted for no reason" strategy. I mean if they had said "Okey guys, we screwed up and created another marker that makes you go batshit and turns bodies into monsters. Please don't go here" then the markerheads... err i mean unitologists, would have probably gone there much sooner because "it is a divine relic!".. Ah come on! The first one was great. Burning necros with the flamer, which you couldn't use in a vacuum. That shows attention to detail if you ask me.
I enjoyed it a helluva lot and got really into the atmosphere. And it was quite long too. And though I didn't find it scary as such, it was a heady and intense game.
BTW I spent all of my time hoping the poor bastard would find a nine, but alas, he didn't. I know its not really in the spirit of things, but its not survival horror w/o one.

Dead Space 1 was a success with me, I remember sitting up in my room for hours and hours on school nights, with my headphones in. It made me hallucinate on the odd occasion. I especially hated the part where you ran into that room, with the guy hitting his head on the locker, it was gruesome. Cannot wait to get hold of this, I really hope it's a success and EA haven't wrecked the whole Dead Space franchise.

I was playing the demo for my 5th time, but with my astro a40s on almost full volume.The necromorphs sound so creepy, especially the pack. The sound really does make the game even better than it really is (and the game is fucking amazing.)

I think I have to pause this at 3:02, I'm on the final chapter. Had the game for ages and the DS2 demo prompted me to play on the first game. Yup, it's totally awesome and brings a new lease of life to a cinema surround system.
Totally needs to be played on a 5.1 system (at least), picked up for £9.99 best buy ever.

They have done a great job with bringing out the atmosphere of Event Horizon in the game. I've only played the original Dead Space for around 30 minutes..... its terrifying! There are very few games that can do this to ya!
