Hey if you see this just figured I would tell you that Khukuris are typically made of truck spring steel of the 5160 variety. It's also a steel used in knifemaking and is widely regarded as one of the best materials for Khukuris.

@650LaMigra This is on the smallest of the four Japanese main islands, the one across the way from Osaka. In fact, my city, Tokushima, is straight across from the Kobe/Osaka megacity. It's a great town, close to the big city but I can be in the countryside in ten minutes by bicycle. Beautiful nature, no cars, and tons of stuff to cut with a knife:/

I would have to say the Kukri is a much larger blade by the looks of it. That Kukri looks awesome, I have been looking into purchasing one. Thanks for sharing the cultural stuff, a nice change compared to the stock "Discovery Channel" coverage most people are exposed too.
