it'd be cool if you did lessons for all of these songs you play. Especially workin them angels because there are like no tabs on the internet for it. By the way, you rock!
yeah i just use clean channel with a lot of presence to clear up the sound, i cant even get to close to Alex's amazing acoustics from his piezo system
I bought that amp off ebay and was very disappointed with it. I also have a Super Swede which to me has a better tone than the Epis. You might want to check out the Marshall AVT series, hybrid valve amp. Not terribly expensive like the switchblade and great tone.
I am sure the Switchblade is awesome and obviously you're looking to replicate Big Al's. I was talking about the blue HK series. The SS gets better ratings than the Viking, from what I've seen. Keep doing a great job!
Hey man awesome vid, thank you for sharing the cover. I saw Rush on the Snakes and Arrows and they were killer, I think the new album is pretty solid... You played the song quite well. Listen, I'm a poor college student so I won't be able to purchase the book of tabs, but I would really be interested in exactly what you're planning there for just the acoustic progression. Great play man, thank you.
Hey man... fantastic cover. Sorry to ask man but i've searched everywhere for the tabs for this song and can find none of the usual sites, It makes me so angry! This is dominant song, I saw them on the snakes and arrows tour and they rocked so hard.
I'm just interested in the acoustic chords, I would love to know that little bit. I am a poor college student who could not afford the book. Great work man, thanks for the show.
trying out a floyd rose trem system on the black LP copy (see my Digital Man cover)...must admit i like it better than the PRS system, it actually stays in tune!!
I just saw rush on saturday for the first time. holy shit! they were awesome. They did like...2112, natural science, trees, red barchetta, free will...too much new stuff though, got boring. This is a great song though. What are the chords for ♫mempry strumming at the heart of a factory town♫ <-- for that whole part
Love your videos great job. You say you messed around for 20 years and then got serious 3 years ago. I have been messing around for 20 years and am practicing more now but not necessarily getting better. Over the pas three years would you say you practiced more or differntly I would greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks and keep em comin.
thanks for feedback....its nothing technical, just a state of mind, i told myself that it was all on there somewhere!! The first complete cover (including solo and fiddly bits) took an age, but i break each song down into segments and work on each one in turn. After one, it then gave me the confidence to go on. I keep telling myself Alex only uses two hands, 6 strings and 24 frets!!
Another great Rush song - Saw them live last week! Besides Alex Lifeson, you are my hero. Just bought the Snakes and Arrows Guitar Book yesterday at Guitar Center - Played that same guitar too. Wife says I already have too many guitars - it looks like you have quite the collection.
....praise indeed, glad you get something out of these, i just love playing this stuff! I have to limit myself to 6 guitars...i just change them, frequently!!
Dude amazing job, your the best iv'e seen on here so far now you have to add ghost rider to your list and ceiling unlimited dont give up on your talent your the next jimmy page without a doubt
Dude that was awsome you have to add ghost rider to your list above all iv'e seen your videos and you put a whole new name for the guitar you will go pro no doubt i even see the jimmy page in your future
Nice cover with your usual sweet sound. I am glad RUSH has gotten back to some old school power chords such as with this song and Earthshine from the last album.
just saw Rush this past Friday back home in Puerto Rico...amazing show!....plus Alex is using tremolo/whammy on his Les Paul's!.......we should all look at that...maybe he would respond to it at some point-yea right..:)-....i went to guitar store the other day with that request....they looked me as if i was crazy...any comments from all you Rush fans?...would love to hear some
yeah, he had floyd rose trems fitted to his LP's, hell of a job, guitar techs only!!! There are simpler versions out there that just bolt o though, dont know how good there are??
I have the same LP.....looking to get one with a tremolo....cant affford a PRS...wondering if a strat and its tremolo would do it for rush tunes/songs?...would love anyone else to comment on this...also thought about getting a steinberger
Great!....will be seeing them in my home country...Puerto Rico! (opening 2008 tour).....we are big into progressive rock btw.....so i have a question...could you say what gear(guitars, amps, pedals) are you using in general?....and keep it up!...big inspiration for us all what you are doing.
Another awesome job! You've been on a terror the past few weeks........I'm loving it. At this rate you'll have just about every Rush song covered in the next 8 months! Keep'em coming! Thanks!

That was really good. I went to see them live, and it sounded like the way Rush plays. I've got 2 questions:
1. Do you use a foot pedal to change to an acoustic sound?
2. Does the beginning of the song have distortion?
nuggetforest 3 years ago
cheers....yeah, its a foot pedal, but i am only changing channels thru the amp (H&K Switchblade). I play the beginning with distortion.
