If a C14 date is 100 years off or thousand years off, we know something went wrong, contamination of some sort may have taken place. C14 dating nowadays is accurate to about +/-50 years. It's not disrespectful when laughing at it would be 100% correct considered it's true value. In fact, it's disrespectful to many many historians, archaeologists, geologists and other scientist their work and findings to even believe in the bible to be historical.
