My ZX1 makes some noise in videos with low audio. Is something like a "ZZZZZZZZZZZ" annoying low sound. Is it normal?

i have a Zx1 and my brother has a zi6. we tested it out and we saw that the zx1 had better video quality. at target we asked the manager what he thought of the zx1 and he said that the video quality is amazing because it is a camcorder so its mostly supposed to be for video and he said the picture quality is good but the video quality is way better. just if you were wondering :)

im getting the zx1 i would because 1. its cheaper 2. it is splash-proof and durable just incase i drop it it will be fine. the actual video quality is pretty much the same

it says that the zx1 has an hdmi cable and the zi6 does not.....is this only for tv, or will it effect video quality on computer?

Defenetly the ZX1 I have it and I have no complaints;serioulsy you see the difference show on this video.The zx1 is weather proof And it holds up to 10 hours of fun I love it becasue you can carry it like a cell phone and you can switch from "HD" to Picture mode and more . ZX1 all day!

i just purchased a zx1... it's not really shaky.. as long as you can hold a camera right, you will be fine if you are considering the camera.

no its really not, its only shaky if u press the middle button to start recording, but they have a remote for that so its much easier, i recommend the zx1 over zi6

yeah I just got a Kodak Zx1 and IT DOES have still shot capability, although it is only 3mp (same as my iphone) but w/e, you only get it to record 720p videos :)

I dunno! hah. I'm not sure it's worth buying one. I haven't bought one. I hear they're pretty crappy stills. My mom has a sony of some kind, a 10mp digital camera that takes video too and it actually has decent video. I'd suggest looking into some digital cameras that take video and researching video quality.

zi8 does 5mp still shots and does full hd vid. however its a city cam and i want a rugged cam like zx1 i hope they woudl realese a rugged cam with still shots bfore xmas.. hehe

I want to shoot concerts (the very loud one's LOL) and have a nice sound quality (zi6) altough... i wanna shoot my snowboard trips (zx1)

ok heres the thing. I think you should get a canon hv 30 unless you want to film while you snowboard in that case you should get a zi6.

For loud concert audio both of these will sound like dookie, and I'm not talking about the band.

You will need something that can handle the sound pressure level (SPL) and these won't do the trick. Try an Edirol R-09HD, Zoom H2 or similar unit that is designed for decent quality audio.

Both are essentially the same camera so you can choose between smaller form factor that is weatherproof or larger screen with macro.

I'm shocked that overall the performance is the same, except the Zx1 is grainer. I don't know what to do. Maybe I could get both? Use the Zi6 in dry places and the Zx1 when i'm at Universal?

I don't think the Zx1 is any grainier. it looks to be about the same. Of course the performance is about the same. The insides are just about the same. It's just the design that's different.
