I'm certain the reason why Annihilator isn't/wasn't a thrash metal giant is because of these 2 reasons -

1.) Canadian Thrash Metal band. The music scene in Canada at that time (80's) was if you even wanted the _slimmest_ chances of making it - you moved to toronto/ottawa/vancouver.

2.) Revolving band members. bands with revolving doors almost never make it to huge fame, b/c the fans cant make an attachment to the band members. Death is another is a classic example of this.

My God! Does this guy kill or what?! I just got their new CD "Total Annihilation" and this dude is off the hook amazing. Annihilator has been around 25 years and hasn't detoured their music like Metallica did...stuck to their guns and sound. Tons of personality with no "I'm a rockstar" attitude....and to think that Kirk Hammet is revered as a Metal God....Hetfield should KH out and replace him with Jeff and revive themselves.......My new metal guitar hero!
