  • As a critic I think he is hypocritical. As a cynic I say bin it, It's quite possible that he was easily fed and I would prefer to be force led, than say The King is dead.

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 Though what you have mentioned is true, the show wasn't just about doing things for a laugh. It was conceived to address and draw attention to not only deeply personal issues for Russell (eg. Dad fight), but also important social issues which go largely overlooked. I don't believe for a second Russell would ever intentionally exploit or manipulate another person, especially someone who is homeless. You would be hard pressed to find someone more kind hearted and gentle natured

  • all these re:brand things start of seeming funny and ironic but end up being quite sad :/

  • 50 quid a fucking day!!! im never giving money to the homeless again. i dont earn 50 quid a day and i graft my bollocks off. he says he wants to be a laborour....why? you wont earn half as much money labourin as you will begging. cant help but think the homeless choose there lifestyle

  • @joefrench555 they make money but I don't think they choose to live that way, many are on drugs the money goes wasted on that. It's very simple to find yourself on the street and beg, is enough if you loose your job, can't get another one, carry on doing drugs and bang! Once you are in the street though is very hard to get beck to normal life. Sad really.

  • @joefrench555 and thats on a bad day .. imagine a good day fucking hell!

  • @carriesking I agree he did very well with it being an addict I think he's great it's amazing how different he is now compared to here I find it kinda interesting seein him on drugs lol I've got his autobiography I'm reading it for the umpteenth time it's just one of those books you can't resist it's so honest and funny and intriguing too

  • james sort of looks like matt morgan in a certain light

  • The thing I love personally about all of Re:Brand is that being a student of sociology, from a sociological perspective these are all really intriguing documentaries! Also, what works so well is the fact that despite Russell being a hilarious guy, he can take things seriously when he needs too, and I think he did bloody well being an addict!

  • i think he did a nice thing, but i belive helping a whole load of homeless people than devoting his whole life to one for a certain amount of time. james does admit to feeling used and degraded. and i can see where he's coming from. russell was having a break down through all the episodes of this 'RE:Brand' and he was on a cocktail of alcohol, heroin & weed. he is messed up. but it's good to see he's doing better now. :)

  • there may have been a better way of going about it, but i think it brings to light an interesting point. that just because someone lives on the street doesn't mean they're not human. james makes the statement that he feels dehumanized and i think that's poignant.

  • I wouldn't judge Russell for something he did ten years ago, while still blazing constantly on heroin.

Watch his new stuff, movies, comedy acts if you want to see the real him, not the one where his comedic brilliance is hindered by his evergoing plight to score.

  • i sat down with a nice bit of dinner to watch a bit of russell brand and BAM! LEG ULSERS!!

  • ~At this point in his life, Brand was a junkie. Amazing that he could even have managed this creative output. Read his Booky Wooky about this whole series he made.

  • i liked russel before seeing this. he just seems like a patronising cunt now.

  • @bigleonard1984 This is during his really bad drug years. You should read his book because you realize that he was completely out of control during this time and only ever thought about having a laugh. This is was mostly do to all the drugs.

  • 50 sheets a day!

  • Wow Russell was like a totally different person back then. Probably just the drugs...

  • @cheesepuff5292 he looks so young like i just want to pinch his cheeks. but he also looks a little not present.

  • Hey just wondering music wise >>>What's the name of the Pinback song in this and what's the name of the Morrissey song when Russell walks onstage on his stand up show for "Shame" ?? Can anyone tell me? Fanks...

  • quite ironic that russell was actually on heroin whilst making all these!

  • @solarizer he talks about it several times during filming.

  • @tylerbrainerd yes i know!?

  • 5.06 - Misery loves company, on the bus.

    Ironic.

  • Even I understand alot of what he's saying and I'm German. I wish I could understand everything though, but his dialect is so strong.. but I'm getting used to it the more I listen to him..

  • Wtf? For all the deaf Americans, I live in NYC and I understand both accents perfectly.

  • lol he's so damned english I can't understand what the fuck hes saying

  • boy hes not afraid to get in your personal space is he lol

  • Just reading his book and out of curiosity had to watch these interesting....wheres the one where he lives with the prostitute ali and the family ?

  • unbelievable how he's gone from this to hollywood superstar (pretty much) in 8 years! wow he's an inspiration

  • ye !!! pixies heres come your man whoop whoop

  • @TheHappydead Heheh that's what I thought! (That and "wow he's handsome! Lol) Same thing when I heard The White Stripes on Russell's documentary On The Road :D

  • after this, I'm gonna be homeless >.<

  • @michloverik Don'[t worry I won't ignore you on the streets lol, may even give you a chicken wing if you don't support aggressive begging that is, squire. :)

  • What's with the little green flashes? Or is that just my eyes screwing up?

  • I CANT UNDERSTAND HIS ACCENT!!!!

  • @lvblovebug Typical American

  • STOP BEING GAY !

  • I love Re:Brand.

Wonder whether Russell will do something as fantastic again. :)

  • @DracoSlashHarry Me too. Hmm I might some day...well I hope so! :)

  • russell brand is so attractive

  • Needs subtitles

  • When he's all shaved Russel looks like Nicholas Hoult

  • @cheeselovingtree OMG! I used to think that too! When the first season of SKINS came out, and I didn't really know that much about Russell Brand, I though they were related no shit. Didn't think anyone else would think the same thing!

(Btw, Nicholas Hoult is pretty good looking too ;P)

  • russel gets so close to him haharussel ios sexy

  • This is like, the sweetest thing ever.

  • Russell is an amazing talent but this was filmed when he was still using and this is by his own admission when he was a mess. He wasnt in the right place to be helping anyone...And James actually admitted to feeling used by this filming. I work with some lovely people who are nfa ex addicts and people trying to get clean near soho and they are some of the nicest people you will meet.

As much as I love Russell...Not sure this is funny.

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 You cannot pretend to legislate comedy, as by it's very nature, comedy is about spontaneity and fanciful interpretations of reality. As well, comedy is a subjective artform and perhaps those being 'helped' weren't necessarily present at the filming, rather, they are those watching who may of had negative associations of those in our global society who've been disenfranchised, albeit some homeless are self-imposing their perpetual state.

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 I don't think it was meant to be funny..

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 not everything he did with those documentaries meant to be funny. He is a funny guy and a comedian, but the topics he discussed on here where very deep and serious. Comedians are often very deep thinking people. sorry about my poor English!

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 cause its funny uve gotta laugh about everything in life or else u just cry and no one wants to cry

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 even if it isn't funny at least Russell recognised that it was probably wrong and felt guilt in the end about it. I think this draws attention to homelessness and is a god thing in the end. Funny thing is James makes enough to rent a room in a place and this could have motivated him to progress towards that, I've worked for £50 a day many times, obviously I didn't have the social problems etc that he does, in the end I think this isn't that awful though and he does care for him

  • @GUILTYENOUGH1 you should find solace in knowing that this wouldn't have been funny either way

  • Excuse me sir, now what's happened is I've fallen upon hard times.

    hahaahha

  • £50, on a bad day?

  • at least 100 i'd of thought

  • £50 a day, i might be homeless part time

  • @ctfc92

thats £18,250 per year, tax free. Lets take a drastc cut from that, say, £10,000 a year tax free.

  • whats the song called

  • whats the songs name and who did it pls at 2 mins

  • The pixies - here comes your man :D

  • I like that the bus has 'Misery loves Company' emblazoned in the background.

  • seems like AL woke up on the wrong side of the sleeping bag.

  • Is James from Shetland or the Western Isles......I can't quite place that accent.

  • i think its great how he managed to produce these pretty amazing documentaries that get a point across while heavily addicted to heroin and probably intoxicated the majority of the time!

  • Having a heroin problem doesn't mean you can't do a days work. It's laziness that stops you doing a days work.

  • well doing heroin does make it a bit harder to do a days work. do you think we would have got to the moon if the people that what built the rocket were nodding out all day.

  • It's true, just look at russell himself in this, he had quite the issue and still managed to put out this.

  • @RyaannWheatley his drug addiction was very minor. When addicted he used just enough to feel normal so rather than be high the gear made him feel normal. I respect him because in his book he doesn't play it up like most people, that said though his habit was on the much lower end of the scale. I played in a successful rock band with a smack addict and they only get enough to feel normal, like how you or me feel on a good day, they can still function just as well once they have used

  • 2.00 whats thats song

  • @mitche91

It's Here Comes your Man by the Pixies

  • when was this filmed ?

  • 90's

  • @tobybowett 2000/2001. when he was a full blown smackhead

  • Notice Russell wipes his top after shaking the guy's hand 9:14

  • i love it when he's 'begging': "thank you, i got me prize!"

  • Pride no?

  • i am proud for the fact that i am trying to beat down the racist homophobic cunt lol! if he was a little child begging for mercy then no, i would not be proud.

  • The Big Pope himself visited my country today giving celebration to the masses but I find this more interesting to watch..

  • does anyone know te name of the song thats playing when hes getting ready in the morning?

  • 'here comes your man' by the pixies, but im sure youve got it by now lol

  • thank yoouu :)

no i didnt have it already ;)

  • after reading russels book, the only reason he did this is was the amount of time he was around the homeless in his search for heroin.

  • Comment removed

  • russel brand has clearly got a big heart! its a pitty not many people see him this way <3

  • I feel sorry for this bloke and all that, but he earns more money than I do in a day! And he can work 7 days a week! I'm limited to 5! He needs a financial adviser or a savins account, nothing more.

  • i dont know how anyone could think of anything bad to say about this .. taking a homeless person taking care of his leg taking him in under his wing for a bit .. its like the good samaritan people probs walked past constantly .. christians, doctors .. sober people then a smack head comes and saves you it is like the bible all over again :P

  • Homeless James is dead now.

    from Russells Twitter (rustyrockets)

someone : "do you ever see homeless James anymore from RE:Brand?"

Russell: "Alas James has passed. Bless him. x"

although it COULD be Russell's idea of a joke...

  • D:

I don't think that sounds like a joke, and there is every chance he could have died, there are all kinds of hazards on the street...

  • or he could mean the whole 'part of his life with James' has passed him by and he just doesn't see him anymore?.....although yeah, he's probably brown bread

  • mmm i like watching russell get ready :)

  • 50Quid a day?!

  • I know yeah, 50 quid on a bad day!?

That's something like 16k a year if he did it every day of the week for a year and got around 50...

Mad lol, as much as a low job...

  • £18.250 and no tax either!

  • fuck this just reminds me of how shit england is

  • are you kidding? the homeless in the US (or at least Washington State) are in a thousand times worse condition than this. At least James could get healthcare and antibiotics. Our gov't just leaves our homeless to rot

  • instead of blaming the US government, how bout u tell the homeless cunts in washington to go get a job like every other fucking person has to do.

  • *chuckles* ohh billy122211, you are too silly to even get angry at.

  • no u either have nothing to say back coz u know im right or u are too stupid to realise what is really happening in the world

  • wtf ? are you homeless? you have no idea how these people get into these situations and about theyre lives so why dont you just shut the fuck up

  • so your racsist too

and either a liar, or your calling yourself a cunt which is kind of true isnt it

  • You're an idiot! LOL yeah you're homeless and using an internet cafe LOL!!! And you part of the homeless elite who only drink burgundy wines and only smone dunhills. HA!!!

  • I admit i do enjoy the finer things in homeless life.

  • Your money goes to an internet cafe, theirs on crack. You're all spending money on things which brings you joy-they're no better or worse than you, and neither are any of us. If this 'civilized society' had a bit more compassion, no-one would be homeless, as we'd look out for those less fortunate than ourselves. Sadly, it's more important to find your social standing and then look down on those who aren't of the same persuasion. Ironically referred to as the 'class system'. It's anything but

  • you might as well have not bothered writing that load of boring bullshit because i go to the internet cafe for free.

  • question: if you really don't like russell brand then why are you spending so much time watching and commenting on his videos?

  • im a big fan of matt morgans camera work u fucking homo

  • oh i'm a fucking homo am i? well being a heterosexual woman (who really does fancy russell brand, mmmmmmmmmm don't u like it!) i find that a little hard to believe. and i have noticed that you seem to have abused most people on the re:brand pages so i have to assume that you are sad lonely loser who is unsure of their own sexuality and the only way to get attention is to be abused. and you don't have to believe that cos i know your fucked up! love darling xxx

  • i bet it does. and i was right: you are a sad lonely loser who is unsure of their own sexuality and the only way to get attention is to abuse and be abused. and while we're on the subject of smelly things, i hope your cock stinks of the burning flesh in hell.

  • i'm quite clearly right then: you ARE deluded darlin'.

  • i think i love you lol x (dont worry, only kidding, i just loved that response)

  • your appreciation for the comment is appreciated lol!

  • I LOVE YOU BUKUS FOR UPLOADING THIS!

  • Thanks so much for uploading this! Russell lifted the spirits of those homeless men. So funny to see Russell's panhandling techniques!

  • Russell is so pretty lol

  • Russell's such a pretty boy indeed. As I was getting ready I couldn't help but think "This is all the things I do when I get ready, and I'm a chick" haha.

  • THANKYOU SO MUCH! I've been looking for these videos everywhere! I watched them ages ago and then i wanted to recently but they weren't up! Thank you for this! Get the rest of them yeah?
