This sketch has nothing to do with 'Allo 'Allo. The original is a tale of an elderly lady having a new year's dinner with her old friends - none of whom are alive, so her butler enacts their parts. The piece is hilarious and the German-language original of this video, where Merkel is the lady and Sarkozy the butler, is every bit as good.
I think you would have succeeded better if you just added a translation varbatim into English than trying to superimpose 'Allo 'Allo dialogue on the sketch.
@Funtaren We've seen the various 'Dinner for one' clips including the badly translated 'English' ones, but in taste tests most Brits preferred this.........
I rather think that this is true to life as we appear to be governed by incompetent clowns anyway, which is not really funny. But it has always been easy to extract humour out of tragedy.
My problem is who do I vote for when I see every politician as corrupt incompetent or serving their own personal agenda?. I will vote UKIP next time but I fear it will be a waste of my time and hopes.
