I worked in gastronomy and from my experience all chefs are like this in the kitchen (at least where I come from, I come from Austria). They shout and they swear and when they walk out of the kitchen they are the nicest people... So he can be one person in the kitchen and an entirely different one in real life!

I met him for about a minute in NY when he was doing that save-your-restaurant show. He was, in fact, very personable even when people were being a bit pushy. I said I appreciated that he worked to show people that being a chef and running a restaurant is not for wimps, and he laughed and shook my hand and said "no one should think that". He was a decent guy.
I think Ramsay is an extremely intelligent man (a genius even in his own right) and I think he knows exactly what people want when they want it! And his performances therefore are spot on! Job well done!!!!!

I met him for about a minute in NY when he was doing that save-your-restaurant show. He was, in fact, very personable even when people were being a bit pushy. I said I appreciated that he worked to show people that being a chef and running a restaurant is not for wimps, and he laughed and shook my hand and said "no one should think that".
