  • what the hell?!

  • This is the most epic Castlevania speedrun ever.

  • If Soma was a girl she'd be really sexy.

  • 18:18 will he or she use the gitch From chaotic Realm?

  • More and more japan in castlevania series. I mean anime style characters and maybe some more which don't fits to this series at all in my opinion.

  • Imagine that, Japanese style things in a Japanese RPG. What filthy depths has gaming reached.

Next you'll tell me western FPS games star white people and space marines.

  • Castlevania isn't an RPG, and Japanese shit really doesn't belong in the environment it's trying to emulate. The series has rapidly gone from a homage/reimagining of Bram Stoker's Dracula to whatever it is now, Dracula's castle appearing in modern day japan because of a full moon or something? Just take a look at this image of just Soma Cruz if you think it's not getting a little more Japanesy (who's already pushing it):

  • The Early games are. But now Castlevania switch to being an RPG platform game. People Loved the Changed. So don't freak out about it. They're still good old Castlevania games (Castlevania Rebirth for WII anyone?)

And Plus, I think this is a fine Game. Sure theres not alot of old Castlevania, but it's still good.

  • You're arguing two different points here. One of the core parts of Castlvania now it's RPG combat system. You can say that random drops, level grinding and stats aren't isn't an RPG system, though you'll be utterly wrong.

They didn't used to be this way, sure, but artificial difficulty sucks anyway.

So does being in Transylvania every single fucking game. why does it matter where generic castle X is anyway?

The 1st game was anime style, the 2nd was 90's anime style. Yes it now looks like shit.

  • You say I'm arguing two different points like it was an accident, or that it somehow discredits what I said. I'll address the RPG one first.

While a level up system, loots, and equipment that determines RNG-based damage are indicative of an RPG, the environment, map system, and in general core gameplay are that of a platforming action-adventure game. Regardless of elements from other genres, AoS is ultimately no more an RPG than Metroid Fusion (a game that was also equipment and story heavy).

  • To my knowledge, none of the damage in this game is RNG based, though there might be a soul or two like that.

  • @KyazuTheInsane Oh, oops.

The thing that really pissed me off though was that ChaosLord56 voiced a legitimate complaint, specified it was his own opinion, and got thumbed down hard for it

  • As for the location and general style of the game, the games originally borrowed from iconic western horror, to which they are a nod. You don't see chinese vampires with magic tags (at least, not until OoE), you see enemies like the Grim Reaper, Medusa, succubi, and werewolves. The games started as Japan emulating western horror to great acclaim. Why does it matter where the castle is? Well why is it in Japan if it really doesn't? Looks the same in-game no matter where it's set.

  • you are amazing

  • this is blindingly fast, thats nuts!

  • Is this an improvement, or was there something wrong with the previous one?

  • it was the wrong movie file. so i had to reupload it.

  • Thanks for the re-upload then.
