The Prince's Tale is probably one of the most depressing things I've ever read/watched. After watching it in the movie, I was on the verge of tears, and all I wanted to do was hug Snape! :(

I agree that they could have done *better* because I really wish they portrayed their friendship more, but Rickman truly captured Snape's heartbreak and love for her. His performance was awe inspiring! And I thought them adding him holding her body was a great addition to the film. Alright, Im very excited for Deathly Hallows part 2. Its gonna be the BEST Harry Potter movie yet. @emmyrossumfn101 I think FOR SURE it's going to be in there. I mean, it's such a huge reveal, plus they have to explain all of Snape's actions up to this point. I don't see how they'd NOT put it in. However, my fear is that it will be some blurry, quick fly-through, as their other pensieve moments have been. The pensieve is supposed to transport the person to the scene as if they were actually there when it happened, and I want to see all those details. Not some crappy "vision like" montage.

Oh my god! FINALLY! This is AWESOME! It's the first video of Lily and Snape I actually made a connection with! :D The song sets the mood, and the clips lead the storyline along perfectly! I LOVE how there's only clips from the movie, not some fan-made pictures, and they match and follow along with the song so well! I was so into this I was like, "what?" when it turned black. I can't really explain the feeling, but when the song first starts, you feel a weird strong feeling in your head and stomach. You feel like you are about to burst into tears. I guess this feeling is only for Shuge Snape fans like myself. You just want to jump into the books and be there at Hogwarts other than your living room couch. I feel like I can relate so well to Severus. His unrequited love, his torment and his personality. He is truly my hero for carrying on for so long. Can't wait for Deathly Hollows.
I literally cried! It was so moving and inspiring and phenomenal! Oh whatever words can't describe it! I am gonna go to the store and by all the HP movies and cry.
I really want to know a more in-depth explaination by JK for why Lily broke off her friendship with him. I think she may have been popular like James was. And I think she would have been really dense not to pick up that Snape liked/loved her. So I wonder if she KNEW he practically worshipped her and got used to it. But the minute he lashes out at her...she dumps him. I think Lily didn't value their friendship the same way he did, which is very sad (speaking from experience).

Severus grew up in a horrible home, no wonder he sought after the Dark Arts.
He made a mistake, one he regretted till his last breathe. He kept Lily in his heart and secluded himself away from everyone. It's heartbreaking because he lived in pain, he loved her for all of those years and couldn't let her go. He couldn't be happy.
i was shocked at the end of half blood prince but I knew as soon as dumbledore said 'severus, please' that he and snape had planned it! the 7th book is the best though - clearing snape's name! <3

It's heartbreaking, Snape's past and the fact that Harry only realized how much Snape had sacrificed for him after he had already died. However, it is of some comfort that Snape is on of the few characters in Harry Potter that had actual depth of character and background. The way J.K.Rowling portrayed him at the end was masterful.

Even if he had married Lily and didn't join the dark arts, it wouldn't stop the prophesy from happening. It could be the life of Longbottom at stake because he shares the same birthday as Harry. Yet if Harry is the chosen one, Snape and Lily would not have a chance against Voldermort. If they were dead, who would become the spy to save Harry Snape's life? Nobody.. That is how sad life is.
@Funnysoundsystem If Snape didn't play the role he did in the series, Harry wouldn't have survived the curse Voldemort put on him as a baby. Snape was the one who asked Voldemort to spare Lily's life thus the reason why Voldemort asks Lily to step aside. It's only when she refuses that he kills her and her sacrifice leaves Harry with the magical protection. If Snape hadn't given the request, I think Voldemort would have simply cast her aside without giving her the chance to sacrifice herself.

@tigerboy1966: Just for the sake of playing devils advocate, keep in mind that he did push her away by falling into the Death Eater crowd. They stopped being close friends long before she fell in love with James. Severus could very well have had a life with her if he had gotten his head on straight and gotten out of the Death Eaters for any reason OTHER THAN her death. Or listened to her in the first place and gotten better friends and never been pulled into the Death Eaters in the first place.

I can't really explain the feeling, but when the song first starts, you feel a weird strong feeling in your head and stomach. You feel like you are about to burst into tears. I guess this feeling is only for Shuge Snape fans like myself. You just want to jump into the books and be there at Hogwarts other than your living room couch. Honestly, Harry Potter books have opened my mind to Hogwarts and have brought me into the world of wizards. RIP Severus Snape (:

I really want to know a more in-depth explaination by JK for why Lily broke off her friendship with him. I think she may have been popular like James was. And I think she would have been really dense not to pick up that Snape liked/loved her. So I wonder if she KNEW he practically worshipped her and got used to it. But the minute he lashes out at her...she dumps him. I think Lily didn't value their friendship the same way he did, which is very sad (speaking from experience).

Severus may have made the biggest mistake in his life but at least he devoted the rest of it to the good side.
Severus grew up in a horrible home, no wonder he sought after the Dark Arts.
He made a mistake, one he regretted till his last breathe. He kept Lily in his heart and secluded himself away from everyone. It's heartbreaking because he lived in pain, he loved her for all of those years and couldn't let her go. He couldn't be happy.

Wow watching this really makes me notice just how well Alan Rickman played his character. (Even in the first movie, you can kind of see how sad he is and how he notices Lily's eyes when he looks at Harry.)

It's heartbreaking, Snape's past and the fact that Harry only realized how much Snape had sacrificed for him after he had already died. However, it is of some comfort that Snape is on of the few characters in Harry Potter that had actual depth of character and background. The way J.K.Rowling portrayed him at the end was masterful.

This is the best video I have every seen of Severus and Lily. It is so sad. Snape has always been my favorite character because he has such a great story. Snape was the one that saved Harry, he was the one that heard the prophecy and that is how e verything started.Everything that Snape did to Harry was out of love to Lily. Snapes true love=Lily

Even if he had married Lily and didn't join the dark arts, it wouldn't stop the prophesy from happening. It could be the life of Longbottom at stake because he shares the same birthday as Harry. Yet if Harry is the chosen one, Snape and Lily would not have a chance against Voldermort. If they were dead, who would become the spy to save Harry Snape's life? Nobody.. That is how sad life is.

@Funnysoundsystem If Snape didn't play the role he did in the series, Harry wouldn't have survived the curse Voldemort put on him as a baby. Snape was the one who asked Voldemort to spare Lily's life thus the reason why Voldemort asks Lily to step aside. It's only when she refuses that he kills her and her sacrifice leaves Harry with the magical protection. If Snape hadn't given the request, I think Voldemort would have simply cast her aside without giving her the chance to sacrifice herself.

@Funnysoundsystem Then again, you have to wonder if it weren't for Snape, would Voldemort have even found out about the prophecy in the first place. Personally, I think he would have gained the knowledge of the prophecy one way or another.

@tigerboy1966: Just for the sake of playing devils advocate, keep in mind that he did push her away by falling into the Death Eater crowd. They stopped being close friends long before she fell in love with James. Severus could very well have had a life with her if he had gotten his head on straight and gotten out of the Death Eaters for any reason OTHER THAN her death. Or listened to her in the first place and gotten better friends and never been pulled into the Death Eaters in the first place.
