The visual aspect of this copy is very well done. I have to say this, the voice acting is poor at best. None of them are really showing any stress in their voice that is very well implied in this scene. Overall, its okay.

and if you guys are bitching about spoilers suck on this, eva 1 is a clone of adam which is basically a giant primitive alien with a bunch of restrictors on it to help keep it under control. a "plug" is inserted into the spine allowing a person(in this case shinji) to control the central nervous system. shinjis mother was the first eva pilot and was consumed by it. when shinji loses synch the giant ape goes off of its instincts which are pretty much kill, consume, survive... profit???
@AzureKitePK It is supposed to be a remake of the classic series condensed within 4 movies and a new ending. I think it's really a continuation of the first series but you don't have to worry about that if you haven't watched the anime series, though you really should watch it anyways to understand the plot and characters fully.

@dragonxanimation 1.11 and 1.0 are technically the same movie, 1.11 has added scenes and several fixes to the image quality. So therefore, 1.11 is the movie you would want to start with.
@dragonxanimation 1.11 is just a dvd version with a few more scenes and better animation and lighting. IT's like a directors cut. The same goes for 2.22.

The Wii is imprecise and has very limited processing power. just map the Eva's moves to a standard Xbox 360 controller, and he would've kicked that things ass on his own. And no, I'm not bashing the PS3 or PC either, i just think that the X360's joysticks are a little better designed.

This is pretty much the same as in the original, even with the same dialogue, but I've read the later stuff starts to follow a different plot. Hopefully they will avoid that pointless and bizarre ending the original had.
It will be more similar to End of Evangelion. They are making it different though. 2.0 was amazing. They added a main character and are tweaking the story. I also hope the ending is a bit different. I didn't feel satisfied with the previous one at all. lol. Just too much left off. I feel like the series should be 5 times as big lol.

He does angst a lot but, c'mon, it's not like he has nothing to angst about. Piloting a giant robot is not cool if your life is on the line, he's not taking it for a joyride. That and his dad abandoned him (RIGHT AFTER the kid's mother died), he has no idea how to talk to girls despite living with two ridiculously hot ones, and many people he doesn't even know are counting on him to survive...and he's 14. Like there aren't enough emotion-altering hormones at that age anyway.

1.11 has fifteen minutes of additional scenes, a lot of added special effects, and a major issue with 1.01--the darkness levels--was fixed. Plus if you get the Bluray then the audio is in 6.1 Dolby TrueHD.
Ah, thought so. I still feel that i am going to be disapointed with how final will play out. Lets be honest, the endings for this anime were less than great.
First off, you should know that if you want that to change, you need to actually give helpful criticism. They've said repeatedly that they do not listen to simple and unorganized rants like that. Secondly, if you hate how they "ruined it" so bad, then by all means go ahead and watch the Japanese audio track--which, by the way, they put on there. Thirdly...I guess this is a matter of opinion, but I don't see how you could think this dub could suck. It's one of the best I've heard.
Get the old cast back, or don't obtain the rights to it at all. Sentai Filmworks/Neo ADV could very well get the rights to these films; Funi should step aside and let ADV have what rightfully belongs to them.
As for the voices, Funimation has no talent in this department.

You're missing the point. Even if FUNimation "stepped aside," no one else could afford it, especially not Neo ADV after their dissolution. They're not being bullies, they're the only ones who could match the asking price. And they got Shinji, Misato, and Gendo (Director's Cut). They tried to get back the whole cast, but the majority of them have moved on from dubbing and don't live in the area--so even Sentai Filmworks would not have been able to get them back. Don't blame FUNi.

the Rebuild (1.11 and 2.22) series are a retelling of the show.
There will be four Rebuild movies, the first three are basically summaries of the show while the fourth one
is a brand new ending.

They are essentially a series of movies retelling the original series. 1.0 was basically a prettier remake of the first six episodes, while 2.0 starts taking it in a new direction. There are two more movies to be released: 3.0 and Final.

The most memorable part of the series
At first you think this is going to be your run of the mill "boy pilots mech and saves the universe," series while at the same time being a complete natural
Than you get to this scene and it shatters whatever you expected
Later on in the series and it shatters your perspective on life and forces you you to rebuild it

A little bit of both. This is the first movie of four movies called, "The Rebuild of Evangelion Movies." They are designed with the intention of being able to tell Evangelion the way Hideaki Anno originally wanted to tell the story before real-life budget issues forced him to change the plot. However, the first couple episodes are pretty much how he imagined them to be in the first place, so the first movie is more like an enhanced remastering. From the second movie on, it'll be new.

Not quite. It's a set of four movies, and the plot, true to the name of the movies, gets a true "Rebuild" from Anno's last attempt/mindfuck. There's absolutely no budget issues, no more instances of no motion for minutes on end, ten times more awesome, and everybody is relatively stabler in the mind.
And the Angels. Whoof.

The Wii is imprecise and has very limited processing power. just map the Eva's moves to a standard Xbox 360 controller, and he would've kicked that things ass on his own. And no, I'm not bashing the PS3 or PC either, i just think that the X360's joysticks are a little better designed.

I just finished watching this n its great!! even though everything is almost the same, the grpahics are great n they added some new scences that werent in the original, alos the enemies are bad ass, especially the 6th angel! Overall its really good cant wait for Evangelion 2.0 comes out but not until 2011 on DVD...Does anyone know when is eva 2.0 coming out on theaters on the US?

This is pretty much the same as in the original, even with the same dialogue, but I've read the later stuff starts to follow a different plot. Hopefully they will avoid that pointless and bizarre ending the original had.

It will be more similar to End of Evangelion. They are making it different though. 2.0 was amazing. They added a main character and are tweaking the story. I also hope the ending is a bit different. I didn't feel satisfied with the previous one at all. lol. Just too much left off. I feel like the series should be 5 times as big lol.

@Tatsumiko Basically Evangelion 1.0, 2.0, etc are completely new remakes of the entire eva series. Brand new animation and different storyline into four new movies. This series is called the Rebuild of Evangelion. Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22 are the Bluray releases with a couple new scenes and that good stuff. Currently 2 of 4 movies have been made. "Evangelion 3.0 Quickening" doesn't have a release date in japan yet but is coming soon. u should watch these. some of the best anime has to offer

@XxXVideoVeiwerXxX well the dialogue is cut drastically, I dont care about a wimpy voice compared to another voice when the dialogue is bastardized and cut short. I just enjoy the original dialogue. Shinji's first fight had much different dialogue in the sub than the dub.

He does angst a lot but, c'mon, it's not like he has nothing to angst about. Piloting a giant robot is not cool if your life is on the line, he's not taking it for a joyride. That and his dad abandoned him (RIGHT AFTER the kid's mother died), he has no idea how to talk to girls despite living with two ridiculously hot ones, and many people he doesn't even know are counting on him to survive...and he's 14. Like there aren't enough emotion-altering hormones at that age anyway.

@TheShockMaster I get what your saying, but 1- Any chance of piloting a robot would most certainly come with responsibility... that much is obvious, so even if its a life or death situation its still a fucking giant robot.
2- His dad abandoned him yeah, but he comes back later saying "Here, have this giant robot and save us"
Might be insensitive, but again, when a dad gives you a robot you really shouldn't cry about it.
3- His age is another reason a giant robot should make up for all negatives.

1.11 has fifteen minutes of additional scenes, a lot of added special effects, and a major issue with 1.01--the darkness levels--was fixed. Plus if you get the Bluray then the audio is in 6.1 Dolby TrueHD.

First off, you should know that if you want that to change, you need to actually give helpful criticism. They've said repeatedly that they do not listen to simple and unorganized rants like that. Secondly, if you hate how they "ruined it" so bad, then by all means go ahead and watch the Japanese audio track--which, by the way, they put on there. Thirdly...I guess this is a matter of opinion, but I don't see how you could think this dub could suck. It's one of the best I've heard.

Get the old cast back, or don't obtain the rights to it at all. Sentai Filmworks/Neo ADV could very well get the rights to these films; Funi should step aside and let ADV have what rightfully belongs to them.
As for the voices, Funimation has no talent in this department.

As for "the original cast," it may interest you to know that FUNimation did try to get all of the original cast back (and *did* get back three of them). So the fact that you didn't bring that up makes me wonder how much of this you actually watched. As for Sentai Filmworks, I'm sure they may have wanted...

@TheShockMaster They have Shinji and Misato, not Rei which was a real shame. Infact, Amanda Win Lee even expressed interest in coming back as Rei in 1.0, but instead Funi gets a soundalike.
The main thing is: Funi has enough money milking DBZ, they should just step aside here and let Neo ADV get back what they want/need to gain their respect back.

Actually, ADV turned down "The End of Evangelion," a few years ago because they couldn't afford it. FUNimation isn't being some kind of bully. They got what they could afford.

You're missing the point. Even if FUNimation "stepped aside," no one else could afford it, especially not Neo ADV after their dissolution. They're not being bullies, they're the only ones who could match the asking price. And they got Shinji, Misato, and Gendo (Director's Cut). They tried to get back the whole cast, but the majority of them have moved on from dubbing and don't live in the area--so even Sentai Filmworks would not have been able to get them back. Don't blame FUNi.

They've release DBZ a thousand times, the only good releases are the subtitled japanese and ocean versions. Id rather support viz who lightly censors their manga than greedy funimation. BTW 4kids has better voices than funi.
