I am ABing those and on some material it is very hard to tell which is the Softube one and which is the UAD. I am testing especially on drums, percussions and on the master channel. There are very close, but for now my favorite one is the UAD, it is brighter and I prefer that (I don-t tell it is better for everyone).
The Softube has more natural high frequencies IMHO and has a sexy GUI compare to UAD :P
However my favorite Trident is the UAD, I'll try to post audio examples...

softube definitely sound punchier , more cut thru more colored sound in a good way, love that over UA.

The softube one definitely sounds better, I stopped using the UA one after I heard & bought the softube one.
