  • You 'animal protection' guys need to realize one thing: Nature is cruel in the same manner as man. Ever saw lion tearing an antilope apart? Stop that 'atrocity' ! Torturing animals without any purpose is sick, we all know that, but animal testing has important purpose and gives us valuable data, therefore it is necessary. Also, it is heavily monitored to ensure that animals don't suffer more than it is necessary. So please, go save baby seals from Canadians and let scientists do their job.

  • You guys do realize that without animal testing there would be no insulin, no cancer treatments, no strong anti-biotics, the polio vaccine would never have been made, humans would not have gone to space, and we would barely know how a living body functions. The average human life span would only be about 40 years and be full of misery and sickness as it was hundreds of years ago before modern medicine. I do feel sad when I see a paralyzed rat in an experiment, but I'm also thankful towards it.

  • I am grateful for this rat because, if I ever become paralyzed, I may have a chance at walking again. Because of that fact, I revere its necessary suffering, not make light of it. You go little Hopkins rat scientist-hero!

  • You people do realize that this breakthrough will help future humans and animals for the next coupe million years right?

  • :( biedny..

  • leave the animals alone , assholes, practice with techonology! stop making the animals suffer idiots! where the fuck are ur ethics?

  • um wasnt it allready parilized and now it can move cause of what they did to it or did they MAKE him parilized then do it cause then thats wrong...

  • @lukecis Yup from what i can read Ya.

  • Poor little thing :C

    It looks so young aswell.

  • Awwwwh poor rat :(

I'm not against testing as it can help soo many people, but seeing this makes me sad :(

  • @aliceinwonderlandxsrew u animal testing is wrong they take the product and put it in there eyes inject it in them adn it blinds them paralyzes them and kills them would they like it if htey did that to u

  • @oliviakarnes ..uhm.. i hate animal testing, i just realize that not everything in life is rainbows and butterflies.. this is a terrible video and i wish they didn't do this, but it's helping people who have been paralyzed. I am so sure that if you became paralyzed you would want scientists to do everything they could to try to find a cure!

  • @oliviakarnes

Great comment, Just one thing though, would you like to explain to my dad who is a quadriplegic why he will never be able to walk, since you don't approve of animal testing. Without this testing people, you know human being who can think and love will never be able to walk, or even live without assistance. So screw this rats they are heroes that are helping people.

  • @unrealy2k : / You realize that if that rat did exist, didn't live a horrible life, they wouldn't KNOW if this would work. Human testing is unethical because it could go horribly wrong, but doing that to another living creature is okay? Next time how them test on your dog, or cat, or etc. If you think about that and think it's horrible, you should realize that you're incredibly speciest . Care about the animals that have a fucking HORRIBLE existence, because those are the real heroes....

  • @aliceinwonderlandx

i hope they do that to you but then i would say i am not against it , you are such a cold person, because it is not done to you then fuck it right? IDIOT, I hope you experience what is like to be paralyzed and the pain tha tcomes with it. This rat is suffering, do never turn the blind eye on animal testing, animal testing is EVIL.

THE ENDS DO NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS.

  • wow wtf

  • her jessie come get the ball. mmmmmmh

  • :( horrible

  • @awake122009 Yeah horrible they had a successfull test of a treatment that could one day help people.

  • @awake122009 I understand your reaction. But what you would say if you saw me trying to do the same thing? I'm paraplegic as well, somebody made me fall from my motorbike on my way to work.

This is one of the toughest things anyone can face. And i have to tell you, those rats doesn't suffer, they don't broke any bones and everything is done under anesthesia.

With this studies, i'll be able to walk again.
