  • Cool, thanks for sharing.

  • It's so sad that today almost everyone sing for money and not for performance...

  • Oh man, even Madcon's is better than this!

  • @XatechChaos

    No

  • @XatechChaos another deaf bastard...

  • Ok, for all you not so clever types, it breaks down like this.

Frankie Valli and the Four seasons cut the original track written for them by Bob Gaudio. Timebox then covered it about 1.5 years later.

    Madcon covered the Timebox version.

The talentless "The Saturdays" have a version too, which as you'd expect is full wavering notes to disguise the fact they could carry a tune even if it was in a suitcase.

    Some things just aren't sacred!

  • this is the best version...

  • try this. listen to any beggin followed by madcon's liar .. it's like a flow in the music. really cool. am doing this for a talent competition at uni.

  • Haven't heard this in a while...thanks x

  • british group? valli and the four were americans, no?

  • Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons certainly were American, but this is Timebox singing here and they are British.

  • @jimmytheferret and it sounds better???

  • use head phones

  • quality of song is wonderful.like he sings next to me.absolutely wonderful...

  • paid 50 bucks for the motown 45

    of timebox begging in 1971

  • please post more vinyl on youtube....it sounds better this way.

  • LOL its four seasons... for the 60 good luck in life buddy ;-P

  • The Four Seasons recorded this record in February 1967, and it was written for them by Bob Gaudio, who wrote much of their output. It never charted in the UK. The version by Timebox was issued in the UK on May 31st 1968 and charted briefly in July of that year, nearly 18 months after the Four Seasons' version was recorded.

  • Latest unapologetic ripoff: "Gloria" by Mando Diao

  • Loved to hear it at the Northern nights.....had a remix done....but didn't like that hip hop crap over it!!

    KTF

  • Where can i find this!

  • Just love it. ktf

  • When I worked the Northern Soul scene, I DID play this cut, it was so far out, and the floor went wild.

    Talking 1975 to 1978.

    Keep The Faith:-)

  • Rubbish! The orchestration is more reminiscent of Beatles cellos etc. The lead singer is OK but doesn't have that unique sound of Valli. in the end, a cover version can never be better than the original.

  • I disagree, although I retract my comment that Valli is a "cheese-eating butt smeller". I do like the Timebox vocal better, and the bonkers drums fills. Cover version can never be better than the original? Kookoo!

  • Not true - plenty of covers surpass the original. eg "All along the watch tower"? -Hendrix wipes the floor with Dylan...the Jam version of David Watts is better than the Kinks.. and just about all versions of "Hallelujah" are better than leonard Cohen's. If I could be bothered I could probably think of 100 more- but I can't be bothered.

  • touche....2 start with hendrix and the watchtower wuz a good way 2 drive home ur point

  • this fucking hot!

  • Superb version. Love it - like Souliegirlie I also think it should be played at Northern Soul nights.

  • much more of a soul version than the original, nice though. I like all the versions of this I've heard so far, works well in soul, hiphop, dance, pretty versatile tune. Now let's see propellerheads or fatboy slim do a bigbeat version :P

  • The Stanton Warriors just used this song in one of their new mixes....its actually pretty amazing! great track and this version is great too!

  • Does the Stanton Warriors mix use the original Valli version? Timebox is quite good but the use of cello's reminds me of the beatles

  • I'm nineteen again!

  • Frankie Valli is 100 times BETTER !!!

  • this is a great original upload

  • frankie valli and the four seasons - in original

  • nice post.

  • Timebox sockin the psychedelic soul!

  • Awesome - very good version!!

  • You are quite right...and if you read the info at the top of the page you will see that I do say it's a version of the Four Seasons song!

  • A much more real and raw soud, should be played in the Northern soul venues!!

  • this original from timebox is much better then madcon or vanessa petrou!

  • wow this version (original) is better then all those remixes.

  • not the original fool

  • beautiful.

  • a overlooked song that should have been a hit

  • Great version, I love this song
