Nice cover. Your piano is in-tune, so thank you for that. Some of the other guys' videos playing this song had pianos that were out of tune and as a musician that drives me nuts. The spider did add a certain macabre creepiness to an already dark song.

About 10 years ago I watched a guy tune one of our pianos in college. He showed me that technique, but I have forgotten the intervals and the phasing frequencies he showed me. He had a strobe tuner and showed me that at certain intervals, the notes should phase with each other in a certain amount of time due to being "out of tune" slightly, but as you say, the ear hears it in tune. I wish I could remember how it's done, but it's just pure curiosity.

He didn't butcher it. He's playing the exact notes from the piano part of the sheet, bass and treble for the hands. The Melody is normally supposed to be sung, but the other arrangements you've see have been playing a mix of treb and bass on the left hand, and the melody on the right.

Jus to clear up any disagreements, Rick rubin approached trent and asked if he could get Mr cash to cover the song. Trent was honoured and allowed him to but didnt know how it might end up. Later that month, i think, A recording of Cash's version was sent to trent. The the music video was sent to him. It was said that "it moved trent to tears".
